Job description
This is a local role in Baby Care Research and Development. This role will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the electronic and control systems needed to execute tests in the Baby Care Process Research Lab. We are looking for Individuals who are inspired by hands-on experimentation and basic science to support R&D initiatives. He or She performs the basic and critical experimental work of day-to-day applied research including
· Using electrical test equipment to diagnose high speed assembled product electrical problems
· Performing preventative maintenance/upgrades to equipment
· Modifying existing equipment/software to enable new testing requirements
· Analyzing trends/technical data to gain insights on controls and identify issues pro-actively
Job Qualifications
Job Qualification 1:
Prior experiences with installation and operation of electrical hardware/software
The role involves significant hands-on experimentation so having a familiarity with the electrical architecture of the equipment will help the candidate on board quickly.
Proficiency in the following is recommended:
· PLC Programming and familiarity with Allen Bradley software (RSlogix, FT View Studios, etc)
· Variable frequency drives and servo controls systems
· Festo CPX software
· Cognex Insight and National Instruments Vision Builder software
· power distribution (
· electrical schematics and single-line drawings
· control system networking
Tests often require equipment set up modifications or manipulations so ability to read and understand electrical drawings will be critical.
Ability to read and understand mechanical and pneumatics drawings is also beneficial.
Job Qualification 2:
Solid math and science foundation – ability to follow detailed instructions and make critical observations.
Strong process and industrial electrical skills, including troubleshooting, problem solving, issue resolution, and root cause analysis to input to experiment design.
This role involves partnering with different project teams to setup and execute tests on the PRL test stands.
Understanding the objective behind the testing in combination with the equipment capability will help the candidate be a more engaged partner and ensure testing is done effectively.
Job Qualification 3:
Prior experience in manufacturing or lab environment.
Projects cycle through the PRL quickly, so having a background in lab or manufacturing practices will help the candidate execute the tests with excellence and ensure that all GMP and safe practices are followed and that base condition of the test stands is maintained.
