Has basic lab fundamentals and technical knowledge and skills in area via direct in lab activities and presence. Applies technical background, both academic and work related, to independently complete established methods, troubleshoot problems and generate reliable data to meet defined program needs. Demonstrates ability to develop and validate new analytical methods and approaches to meet assigned program needs and can resolve next steps based on results-to-date and starting to independently develop approaches and methods to address needs with input from technical coach. Summarizes and interprets key findings/results and understands the importance and direct impact of work in relation to larger program goals and needs by using training and technical background. Demonstrates the ability to understand product chemistry and material interactions and integrates this knowledge with data to generate project knowledge

Leadership of measurement strategies for raw materials made to develop and manufacture drug and supplement products. This work includes:

A broad range of instrumental analysis techniques, ranging from UV/Vis to DLS particle sizing to chromatographic techniques

Partnership with internal cross-functional project teams and contract manufacturers to troubleshoot and deliver new innovation
This staff member will also lead one or more aspects of measurement capability development within the Personal Health Care Analytical Chemistry organization.
More specifically, the Scientist will handle the development, validation and execution of test methods to deliver insights on product/process development and degradation mechanisms of key drugs, excipients, and dietary ingredients (i.e botanical materials). This may include but is not limited to creation of new data analysis/interpretation approaches in partnership with Company-wide Analytical colleagues and multifunctional R&D teams (e.g., toxicologists and formulators) for problem solving, as well as publishing and communicating findings of research.
Technology responsibilities include the development of quantitative methods for analytes in various matrices using chromatographic techniques (primarily LC-UV and LC-MS). The successful candidate must have in-depth knowledge of analytical chemistry or a closely related field, preferably with experience in the drug or dietary supplement areas.
Experience in developing GxP methods and developing FDA regulated products is a plus.
The selected candidates will also apply deep technical skills and strong communication skills to shape testing standards both inside the Company and externally. Other qualifications relevant for the position are: good collaboration skills, experience in establishing and maintaining working relationships and independent/agile learning with excellent organization skills.
This employee will report to the North America Personal Health Care Director who is based at the P&G Mason Business Center. Overall, you will be part of the Analytical Chemistry Department at this location. There is plenty of help, support, coaching and training available from colleagues, with formal training being tailored to your needs and interest.
