CDI Royaume Uni
Job description
Strategic Planning Manager
Helensburgh
Contract/Staff
Hybrid (2 days on-site)
Purpose of the job
This role will be instrumental in shaping and maintaining an Infrastructure Integrated Plan and a forward-looking Strategic Infrastructure Plan, bringing together infrastructure delivery, maintenance activity, engineering compliance, safety case requirements and operational programmes into a single, coherent view.
Working across multiple stakeholder groups, the postholder will ensure that plans clearly reflect key milestones, critical dates, interdependencies and risk drivers. The resulting outputs will support informed decision‑making, identify mitigation opportunities, and provide a trusted “single version of the truth” for senior governance forums.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead engagement with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders across organisational boundaries, including government, commercial and delivery partners.
- Work closely with engineering, compliance and assurance teams to understand planned activities and how they interact with wider infrastructure programmes.
- Collate and integrate planning data from infrastructure, project and programme teams into a consistent, structured planning baseline.
- Develop, manage and maintain complex schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with agreed planning standards and governance.
- Analyse plans to identify inconsistencies, risks, issues and opportunities; challenge assumptions and support the development of value‑for‑money mitigations.
- Demonstrate cause-and-effect relationships and run mitigation or scenario analyses to support decision points.
- Develop and maintain robust reporting mechanisms providing timely visibility of progress, risks, issues and emerging impacts.
- Produce clear, concise reports covering progress, change, dependencies and mitigation strategies for presentation at governance and assurance forums.
- Support and contribute to cross‑organisational planning forums and working groups, enabling effective participation and collaboration.
- Act, alongside the senior planning lead, as a focal point for enterprise planning activity and P6 governance.
Desired profile
Occupational Skills and Knowledge
- Strong proficiency in MS Office 365.
- Proven experience using Primavera P6 in complex project or programme environments.
- Working knowledge of SharpCloud and Power BI for integrated planning and reporting.
