Position – Senior HVAC Engineer

Location – Hinton House, Warrington

Travel – Occasional site visit to Cumbria required

Hybrid working – 3 days in the office and 2 remote

Arrangement – Contract (Inside IR35) or staffed

Salary – Dependent on experience

BPSS clearance will be required at basic level. Prior clearance will not be transferrable.

These ventilation projects are required to remove redundant assets from an Alpha plant and its associated ventilation systems. These are multi-disciplined projects that will design plant and equipment that will facilitate the safe dismantling/safe disposal of redundant plant items thus allowing the connection and fitment of the new ventilation infrastructure within the existing building.

Responsibilities of a Senior HVAC Engineer -

The Senior HVAC engineer will be required to support the design through all project phases, including the current ventilation of the single viable ventilation plant option. The Senior HVAC Engineer will be required to work closely with the multi-discipline design team and plant-based team, deliver the ventilation and building services work scope, production and checking of design variables, reporting to Principal Ventilation/ responsible Engineer. The Senior HVAC Engineer will need to guide Designers and Engineers in the production of detailed drawings, layout drawings, flow diagrams and part lists, calculations to verify the detail design and design substantiation may be required. The production/ compiling of technical documentation will be a requirement.

Essential Experience and Qualifications required for a Senior HVAC Engineer –

One year within the previous three years working in roles where knowledge of Nuclear Ventilation Systems engineering was a key attribute. In addition, the last year will have been working within a regulated quality assured system (preferably nuclear) in roles where professional engineering judgement was a key attribute.

• Professional registration with an appropriate professional institution.

Desirable Experience for a Senior HVAC Engineer –

• Three years within the last 5 in Engineering Design

• Recent experience of Alpha Plant design and the decommissioning of redundant plant would be advantageous but not essential.

• A good understanding of the requirements associated with delivering ventilation designs in the nuclear sector.

• Experience in production of technical file.

• Experience of ‘Design for Assembly’ within the nuclear facility.

• Experience in the production and development of nuclear ventilation plant layout.

• Production and checking of ventilation engineering calculations and deliverables

• Liaison with key stakeholders’ ad other design disciplines

• Competent Report writing skills, clear and concise report findings

• Comfortable in working under time and cost restraints

• The candidate will need to manage their own workload and drive completion of the work scope.

• The candidate will need to be able to communicate effectively with team members with the client.

Desirable Qualifications of a Senior HVAC Engineer –

• Masters Engineer Degree
