Job Summary

A Scientific Communication Specialist represents and promotes both Royal Canin and its products through education, support, and knowledge. Responsible for: participating in strategic planning sessions in a cross-business product planning team, implementing the marketing business plan and developing and executing training sessions and materials. Provides technical expertise enabling a high level of customer service for the Veterinary Case Consultation Service.
Key Accountabilities
· Promotes Royal Canin brand awareness and products by liaising with veterinary clinics, key opinion leaders, veterinary schools, and animal health technician colleges. Provides support through public speaking engagements, and by participating in conferences, seminars, and national programs.
· Develops technical training programs and resources as required (training presentations and workshops, clinical notes, technical bulletins, master reference file creation/updates, relevant journal articles, KOL messaging, conference updates) for a variety of audiences including internal and external stakeholders
· Provide technical support to sales team through in-person discussions, training workshops, and seminars as required
· Provides technical support to veterinary clinics through the case consultation service combining precise nutrition and best medicine approach.
· Gathers competitive intelligence data through case consultation conversations, conference attendance, field activities and KOL liaisons and cascade the information to appropriate associates.
Key Lateral Responsibilities
· Provides input and support to the development of eLearning and training content
· Assistance with PRO and POS pillar needs as directed by Manager of Scientific Communications
Additional Competencies:
· Functional/Technical skills – Advanced knowledge of and interest in companion animal (cats and dogs) veterinary medicine (current diagnostic and therapeutic procedures).
Key Technical Knowledge and Skills
· Bilingual French/English, written and verbal is an asset
· Strong knowledge of Royal Canin products and services
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Resilience to change, working under pressure and lean organizational structure
· Extensive computer skills with Microsoft Office proficiency
Critical Learning Experiences
· DVM with minimum 3 years in small animal practice
A criminal records check will be required for this position.
