The new W Ibiza will be located in Santa Eulalia, which is a short drive from Ibiza city's popular high-end entertainment zone. Santa Eulalia is a charming town with various new upper-upscale hotels opening in recent years. The hotel offers 162 rooms and suites and feature extensive B&F facilities with a signature restaurant, all day café with direct access to the boulevard, W Lounge, WET Deck, Beach restaurant Rooftop Bar and W signature Away Spa.

JOB SUMMARY
The W Music Curator will play an integral role in developing a long-term sustainable approach to activating the Passion Point of Music at the property level. Having a greater understanding of the local music scene, this role will oversee and drive energy behind music at our properties on a day-to-day basis. High-level responsibilities will include managing music programming (such as DJ sourcing and scheduling), assisting with W Happenings planning, technical know-how for our Sound Music Suite, including sound/studio engineering and music producer/production experience, and generally being the face and voice of the hotel's passion for music.
The W Music Curator should have a consistent presence in the hotel, with time dedicated to creative and strategic project work for the hotel, including selecting and scheduling talent for live music W Happenings, booking DJs for regular music programming, and working with appropriate departments/teams within the hotel (e.g., B&F, Convention Services, Third Party) to provide additional music touch points throughout the guest and customer experience that are in line with the brand's sonic identity. Further, the W Music Curator is also part of an existing arrangement to perform as DJ and spin as part of regular music programming.
The W Music Curator will report to the Director of Marketing with a dotted lines to the Director of B&F, and should have, at minimum, monthly creative meetings with Marketing and B&F teams to discuss and develop ongoing music programming. They should be involved with key PR events and W Happenings and act as an Ambassador for the hotel, representing the music aspect of the property. The W Music Curator must be ready to travel and represent his/her W property across region/Division when necessary.
The W Music Curator should liaise with the W Insider to provide insight into local music happenings and connections, to be included in the W Insider Cool Hunter guide, and leverage any shared connections to enhance the music experience within the hotel. In addition to maintaining existing relationships, the W Music Curator may need to spend some time outside of the hotel to further build networks and connections.
The W Music Curator should be the point-person for negotiating fees with talent and DJs and other vendors and is expected to properly manage hotel budgets dedicated to music programming.

· Expert in communicating through all relevant social media mediums, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and have substantial following
· Must be able to DJ
· Versatile background and experience that extend beyond DJ'ing (e.g., entertainment, PR, marketing)
· Excellent talent negotiation skills and experience
· Past experience in event-planning and promotions
· Sound Engineering and Music Producer/Production experience
· A genuine personal interest in lifestyle events and information that is close to W's core values and brand positioning (beyond solely music)
· Excellent interpersonal and problem resolution skills with an outgoing personality and ability to work as part of a team
· Excellent communication and organization skills – ability to handle multiple tasks at once and follow-up whenever needed
· Basic computer skills, preferably including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (Photoshop/InDesign a plus)
Supportive Functions
· In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel
· Participate as a team player with all departments
· Assist with projects and reports.
CANDIDATE PROFIL
QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. High School or equivalent, college degree preferred.

Experience working in a lifestyle-related business or environment would be a highly positive attribute. Spanish & English mandatory.
GROOMING
·
All talent members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific W standards are to be met whenever on-property. Styling should be in line with W wardrobe and lifestyle but also uniquely personal to the W Music Curator. The W Music Curator should not have a standard uniform.
OTHER
·
The employment of the W Music Curator may, in many cases, be on a consultant/contract-basis. The contract terms and fee structure negotiations between the hotel and the W Music Curator are at the discretion of the hotel but should be in line with Marriott International policies and the guidance provided within this job description.
