JOB SUMMARY
The Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for driving the digital marketing efforts of JW Marriott Tokyo. This role works closely with the Marriott Digital Service team and the Area Office’s Marketing Team to ensure that the hotel's digital marketing strategies align with broader regional goals. The manager will oversee the hotel's presence on owned and third-party electronic channels (Marriott.com, multi-lingual global sites, OTAs, meta search sites, search engines, and other eMarketing vehicles) to increase revenue, grow market share, and create a compelling experience that drives direct bookings.
Additionally, the Digital Marketing Manager serves as a key point of contact between the hotel and the Area Office’s Marketing team, providing insights and feedback to enhance the hotel's digital presence. They will regularly communicate with the Marriott Digital Service team to ensure the hotel's strategies are fully activated and optimized on Marriott.com and appropriate in-language global sites.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Experience and Education
Required experience: Digital Marketing, Channel Management, Agency Management. Additional experience welcomed in: Brand Management, Public Relations, and Marketing Communications.
Required:
• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration or related major and 4 years’ experience in the sales, marketing communications, digital or related professional area; hospitality marketing, PR, advertising or digital agency experience preferred
OR
• 4-year bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Business, or related major; 2 years experience in the sales, marketing, digital or related professional area; hospitality marketing, PR, advertising or digital agency experience preferred
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
1. Digital Strategy & Planning:
· Develop and execute a comprehensive digital marketing strategy aligned with the hotel’s business goals.
· Ensure all digital activities adhere to Marriott’s brand guidelines and digital standards.
· Monitor market trends and competitor digital activities to identify opportunities for innovation.
2. Website & SEO Management:
· Optimize the hotel’s website performance, content, and booking conversion rates.
· Implement SEO/SEM strategies to improve search engine ranking and visibility.
· Collaborate with Marriott’s digital teams to update content, promotions, and special offers.
3. Social Media & Content Marketing:
· Manage and grow the hotel's presence across social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.).
· Develop engaging content, including text, images, and videos, to enhance audience engagement.
· Work closely with influencers and brand ambassadors to boost digital reach and engagement.
4. Online Advertising & Performance Marketing:
· Plan and manage paid advertising campaigns (Google Ads, Meta Ads, etc.).
· Optimize digital advertising spend to maximize ROI and direct bookings.
· Track and analyze campaign performance, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
5. Email Marketing & CRM:
· Develop targeted email marketing campaigns to engage past and potential guests.
· Work with Marriott’s CRM tools to enhance customer retention and loyalty.
6. E-commerce & OTA Management:
· Optimize the hotel’s presence on Online Travel Agencies (OTAs).
· Collaborate with the revenue management team to implement pricing strategies that maximize online sales.
7. Analytics & Reporting:
· Track and report key digital performance metrics (website traffic, social media engagement, conversion rates, etc.).
· Utilize tools like Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, and Marriott’s digital dashboard to measure success.
· Provide regular performance reports and insights to the Director of Marketing Communications/Director of Sales & Marketing.
