GENERAL FUNCTION
The primary role of the Diagnostics Center Advisor is to maximize retail lab production, reduce cost of ownership and extend the operational lifespan of the lab equipment. The application of advanced technical skill, strong optical manaufacturing knowledge and extensive customer service expertise is required to support field associates responsible for managing retail labs. With each interaction the Advisor must accurately evaluate the equipment need and align with the associates skillset so as to communicate in a way to provide precise details that encompass lab equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and manufacturing best practices.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Accurately diagnose lab equipment issues from a remote location via phone, chat or email
· Partner with field leadership when troubleshooting to align on the best strategy to manage the LC lab parts spend budget and minimiz down time
· Utilize SAP to expedite request for lab equipment part/s or services. This is accomplished by using the assigned article number, or by submitting a manual purchase order
· Take ownership to resolve urgent lab equipment issue/s and proactively follow up with the assigned LC lab to ensure the business critical parts, services or equipment are successfully implemented
· Submits necessary PM service calls and follows through to completion with both the vendor and retail lab
· Maintains working relationship with RxO, R&D and H&S partners to align on best practices that result in improvements for the equipment or lab environment
· Actively participates in vendor sponsored training for new lab manucaturing equipment platforms and technology. And continues ongoing training exercises for current equipment platforms, manufacturing best practices and H&S updates that are used in LC labs
· Combines learned customer service, technical, optical and manufacturing skills with available resources/technology – such as the Wiki, email, and the option to share pictures and video links, that improve upon the ability to better communicate with the LC labs
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· 3-5 years in Customer Service/Help Desk, Retail Environment, Optical Lab Mfg., or Repairing/Servicing lab equipment
· Knowledgeable with Microsoft office(Outlook, Excel, etc.), and computer skills
· Strong problem solving skills with ability to analyze information and troubleshoot
· Detail oriented and strong organization skills
· Strong communication skills, both oral and written
· Ability to work in fast environment, while being flexible and adaptable to change
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· 2 year technical associates degree
· 3+ years optical experience
