GENERAL FUNCTION  

The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Quality Manager in the achievement of business goals such as quality, productivity, breakage and costs by providing direction to Quality Techs 1 and 2 and in consultation with Production managers.

Ensuring the Quality System function and development of assigned QS associates.

The Supervisor is accountable for supporting the Brands and businesses (domestic and international) as it relates to new product introduction.

 

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Evaluate non-conforming occurrences in manufacturing, develop and/or revise workflow methods. Inform management on changes/additions and guide associates in correcting deficiencies as necessary.
·  Responsible for the development and training of associates and the leadership team in achieving continuous process improvement.
·  Using root cause problem solving skills, collect and analyze data, and prioritize and deliver data as necessary.
·  Direct, review, and approve lens shape design and changes.
·  Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the technical work performed in the Product Integration Department.
·  Facilitates data collection, summary and analysis to support problem solving activities that will lead to root cause problem solving, team building strategies, process control methods, and continuous improvement actions in order to meet or exceed the facility key internal and external operating metrics.
·  Instructs and leads others in engineering improvements, including the use of various problem solving and productivity techniques such as process mapping and cost time management.
·  Communicates business needs, schedule changes, process problems, success stories, etc.
·  Develops partnerships with technical areas in the research and resolution of system and process problems.
·  Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS  

·  Bachelor’s degree in or equivalent work experience
·  3+ years of related work experience, including manufacturing prcess, optics, and frame/lens integration
·  2+ years experience managing and leading processes
·  Proficiency in MS Office, computer usage, and basic statistics
·  Ability to work within and lead cross-functional team environments; ability to build relationships at all levels
·  Strong problem solving and analytical skills (both quantitative and qualitative)
·  Excellent Supervisory and leadership skills
·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
·  Ability to influence/negotiate
·  5+ years’ experience in Quality Control

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

·  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
·  Ability to adapt to changes in work tasks, environments, processes and cultures
·  Ability to effectively manage and facilitate meetings
·  Ability to create presentation materials for use across all levels of the organization and to technical and non-technical audiences
·  Analytical skills, to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements
·  Optical Training/Certification
