GENERAL FUNCTION

 The Sr. Cost Accountant applies strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and technology skills to provide value-added visibility and insights to Oakley. The Sr. Cost Accountant reviews/analyzes the general ledger, cost accounting standards, plant financial statements, and inventory data. By leveraging the ability to problem-solve and identify variances, the individual helps ensure high efficiency and cost control for the manufacturing operation.

 

  MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

·  Tracks, forecasts and performs variance analysis of labor spending of approximately 1,500 employees
·  Assists in month-end closing, prepares journal entries as necessary, and performs balance sheet and expense analysis
·  Provides accounting, controls, reporting and support for cost center expenditures
·  Performs other month end close and reporting duties, including accruals, journal entries, and budget to actual overhead analysis
·  Analyzes cost accounting data and assists with cycle count/physical inventories
·  Maintains internal control documentation and test internal controls
·  Reviews and analyzes inventory and variance reports, conducts research, and performs analytical studies
·  Tracks and analyzes capital expenditure
·  Assists in preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements and weekly/monthly management reporting packages
·  Compiles information to be used in preparing annual operating budgets
·  Assists managers with monthly forecasts
·  Prepares weekly and monthly schedules for management
·  Completes special projects and other responsibilities as needed

 

  BASIC QUALIFICATIONS  

·  BS in Accounting, Finance, Business, or similar degree
·  3+ years’ relevant experience
·  2+ years’ relevant manufacturing experience, which would generate the ability to perform the essential responsibilities of the job
·  Able to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles & Cost Accounting Standards (GAP & CAS)
·  Must be able to adapt to new and different computer programs and software to enable efficient data gathering and analysis
·  Able to research, compile, analyze and interpret data
·  Advanced knowledge of Excel
·  SAP experience
·  Strong understanding of standard cost models (Direct Material BOM Calculation, Direct labor Routings, Overhead application)
·  Extremely detail oriented
·  Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities
·  Able to work well with multiple departments and multiple levels in the organization
·  Demonstrated ability to build the business through improved analysis, trending, and reporting
·  Sound business judgment and strong attention to detail

Pay Range: $66,973.13  - $90138.4 

 

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package Benefits/Incentive Information including health benefits, PTO, 401K, paid family leave, tuition reimbursement, and eyewear discounts.
