GENERAL FUNCTION
The Equipment Center Tech II completes quality repairs and rebuilds of all optical lab equipment within defined cycle times using documented standardized processes. Facilitates field training, cross functional project execution and process development across multiple equipment platforms. Actively engages in and supports continous improvement initiatives, executes LEAN priciples in daily work assignments.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Diagnoses and repairs/rebuilds all lab equipment as required and directed.
· Repairs/rebuilds and tests all lab equipment according to standardized processes.
· Ensures all safety devices are properly installed and protocol followed.
· Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
· Ensures all safety devices are properly installed.
· Partners with leadership, peers and other functional teams to problem solve.
· Supports training to field leadership and peer associates.
· Supports and actively engages in opportunities for continous improvement initiatives.
· Alternates tasks and job assignments to support production needs as demand requires
· Travels to stores with minimal notice to repair equipment or support training.
· Evaluates lab equipment for appropraite level of repair.
· Ensures all repaired and rebuilt equipment meets quality standards.
· Ensures lab equipment produced meets the highest possible quality.
· Meets or exceeds required production metrics for all job functions.
· Assists in the creation of mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams related to reapir of electrical systems, hydraulics and pneumatics and mechanical systems.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· High school diploma or equivalent
· 3+ year’s experience with production type equipment
· Machine repair/building experience
· Experience in electrical wiring
· Working knowledge of mechanical equipment
· Working knowledge of electrical machine wiring
· Working knowledge of tool room measuring devices
· Skilled knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
· Skilled knowledge of reading blue prints
· Ability to organize multiple projects/tasks at once
· Excellent problem resolution skills
· Ability to work independently, exercising sound judgment
· Strong demonstration of willingness to learn new processes and procedures
· Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Technical and/or Trade school
