GENERAL FUNCTION
The Sr. Cost Accountant is responsible for accounting, analysis, reporting and financial decision support. This position applies strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and technical skills to provide value-added support and insights. The role requires strong cross-functional collaboration and regular dialogue and reporting with internal local customers and remote company locations.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Analyzes monthly financial statements and prepares weekly/monthly reporting packages for local and corporate management teams.
· Develops and sustains complex financial models for forecasting and decision support.
· Completes P&L and balance sheet analyses, prepares journal entries and publishes month-end reporting in support of the monthly close process.
· Leads significant cross-functional projects including the development and implementation of robust Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes with streamlined and enhanced reporting and controls.
· Assists in the development of processes and integration of financial reporting and controls for the operational expansion to EssilorLuxottica Mexico.
· Pro-actively identifies and implements opportunities to automate, streamline and improve reporting and processes.
· Communicates and collaborates regularly with colleagues across the globe in North America, China, Italy and Brazil.
· Partners with manufacturing business leaders to understand monthly results and drive change and efficiency in the manufacturing plant.
· Maintains a strong understanding of standard cost models (direct material BOM calculation, direct labor routings, overhead application)
· Orchestrates information gathering, analysis and review within and across functional areas in support of the monthly forecast and annual budgeting processes.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related
· Over 3+ years of relevant experience
· Able to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through 2+ years of related experience within a manufacturing environment
· Able to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) & Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
· Able to adapt to new and different computer programs and software to enable efficient data gathering and analysis
· Strong ability to research, compile, analyze, and interpret data
· SAP Experience
· Advanced knowledge of Excel
· Extremely detail oriented
· Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
· Able to work well cross-functionally and with multiple levels in the organization
· Strong written and verbal communication capabilities
· Demonstrated ability to build the business through improved analysis, trending and reporting
· Sound business judgment and strong attention to detail

Pay Range: 70,542.15 - 90138.4
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package.
