GENERAL FUNCTION
The Industrial Automation Engineer enables innovation in EssilorLuxottica’s optical (RxO) manufacturing facilities leveraging a customer-driven approach. They will lead capex projects related to new automation implementations within the RxO network and collaborate with N.A. RxO engineering, operations, and logistics stakeholders to support EssilorLuxottica’s Retail, Wholesale, and eCommerce businesses.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Supports the design, implementation, and launch of automation projects across the N.A. RxO network
· Provides frontline support to mitigate automation system outages and troubleshoots errors to support a 24/7/365 RxO manufacturing environment
· Assists in idea creations and evaluation of concepts, prototyping and then launches innovations.
· Stays at the forefront of technology advancements impacting RxO manufacturing, material handling & logistics.
· Evaluates and identifies advancements in the industry to improve customer/user satisfaction and reduces operating expenses.
· Uses data analytics to prioritize opportunities and quantify impact.
· Prioritizes enhancements, quantifies justification and builds business cases (as needed)
· Realizes expected efficiency gains from system enhancement(s).
· Harmonizes the alignment between RxO operations and LMS business systems teams to maximize productivity and throughput.
· Helps to drive and support the design and enhancements of LMS and manufacturing processes.
· Eliminates inefficiencies or service gaps in N.A. RxO manufacturing facilities.
· Collaborates with EssilorLuxottica Global Innovation/Engineering teams to share best practices.
· Develops internal and external network to drive value creation.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
· 3+ years of experience in manufacturing environments with a focus on optimizing processes
· Expert knowledge of Manufacturing Operations processes and Lab Management Systems capabilities including vision systems, automation, and PLC programming (ladder logic)
· Experience in design, optimization, reengineering processes
· Strives in a fast pace environment
· Able to work in environment with international objectives and matrix relationships in a multinational environment
· Ability to travel at least 25% of the year
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Master’s Degree in Engineering
· Project Management experience
· Lean/Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
