GENERAL FUNCTION

The Accountant ensures accounts (general and/or subledger) are properly reconciled in a timely manner to ensure assets, liabilities, and expenses are properly recorded in the Local ERP and in the corporate reporting tool, according to international accounting principle (GAAP) and EssilorLuxottica accounting guideline. The Accountant provides technical support to business requests and executes internal controls.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Performs month end activities accurately and timely (e.g. recording journal entries, performing variance analysis, updating subledger details, etc.
·  Works with team to identify and implement opportunities to streamline processing and/or enhance controls.
·  Maintains proper controls and enforces policies and procedures.
·  Prepares reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts. Analyzes balances to ensure they are accurate. Communicates unreconciled items to management.
·  Provides support as appropriate to primary customers including timely response to internal customers.
·  Maintains continuous improvement mindset and proactively identifies, reviews, and implements process improvements.
·  As part of the month-end close process, work with business partners in finance, operations, HR, etc. to ensure that results are in line with expectations and any required journal entries are appropriately supported, prepared and posted in adherence with previously established close deadlines.
·  Assumes additional responsibilities and assists with special projects as needed or directed.
·  Execute internal controls.
·  Support internal and external auditors. 

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
·  Proficient in Microsoft Excel and has desire to become proficient in finance software including ERPS (SAP/HFM)
·  Ability to adapt to shifting and competing priorities
·  Ability to analyze problems, to compile data, to determine facts and reach a logical conclusion
·  Constructively challenges the process and takes the initiative to search for opportunities to grow, improve and innovate
·  Strong time management, organizational and communication skills, both written and oral
·  Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
·  Attention to detail and deadline-oriented
·  Ability to work in a team and to communicate with people inside and outside the organization with different background and seniority

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
