We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist who will support our manufacturing operations with insights gained from analysing shop floor data and that will be part of a data science or cross-disciplinary team on development projects, typically involving large, complex data sets. The candidate will perform all activities associated with the design, prototype, and development of learning models. He/She will join the Business Process Innovation team whose purpose is to guide the innovation inside Luxottica manufacturing all over the world.

Here some of the responsibilities you will have:

·  Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
·  Mine and analyse data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development.
·  Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
·  Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
·  Use predictive modelling to increase process quality.
·  Coordinate with manufacturing teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.

 

PORTRAIT OF A PERFECT CANDIDATE

·  Knowledge of Computer Vision techniques (image processing) and main algorithms (Convolutional Neural Networks, Autoencoders, …)
·  Strong knowledge of statistical computer languages (Python, SQL, etc.). Experience with PyTorch is a plus.
·  Proven Experience with Azure and Databricks Environment is a plus.
·  Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
·  Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
·  Pragmatic and effective, demonstrating skill in defining and delivering value for the organization.
·  Excellent communication skills, presenting results in a clear manner and proposing solutions and strategies to tackle business challenges and influence the stakeholders.
·  Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, continuously looking forward to using the knowledge to solve complex business problems.
·  A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
·  Ability to collaborate deeply with Business and IT teams, as a great team player (it is nice to have experience in working in international teams).
·  Have a very good command of English language (it is nice to have command of additional language, for instance, French).
·  STEM bachelor’s or master’s degree.
