POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a Manager, Category Management to join our NYX Professional Makeup team in the Consumer Products Division of L’Oreal USA. The Manager, Category Management is responsible for an in-depth understanding of all elements of category dynamics as it relates to the 4P’s (product, placement, price and promotion). Maintain knowledge of category, consumer, customer and competitive activity and utilize internal, syndicated, primary and secondary sources to identify value-creating opportunities. Determine market research needs and work with the Market Research team to field appropriate and actionable research to gain insights and translate into growth initiatives.
KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

· Manage Product Merchandising
· Develop Consumer Insights to support distribution strategy across specialty, mass, and drug markets
· Create and Maintain Planograms
· Help set vision for category/portfolio and rally team around it
· Manage short- and long-term strategy needs of the product/brand portfolio
· Assess category trends, analyze data and identify key customer opportunities consistent with the overall company strategies and brand market plans
· Act as the category expert to ensure the execution of strategic business plans using tools and data such as Space Management, Syndicated Data analyses and Consumer Insights
· Effectively utilize the company’s analytical tools and processes to ensure corporate objectives are met
· Lead development of category overviews and action plans for assigned customers, utilizing category management principles and strategies that will improve sales results and deliver customer category objectives
· Involvement with the development of account specific planograms for the top accounts with the primary goals being to optimize distribution, minimize returns and manage inventory
· Develop insights, contribute feedback and give recommendations on DMI “paniers”
· Interact effectively with other functions to ensure broad buy-in; present to retailers, distributors, salons
· Assess merchandising strategies and profitability and own communication objectives and strategies for category/portfolio
· Manage launch financial process for the category; responsible in assisting forecasting accuracy of new product portfolio
· Develop a deep knowledge of the marketplace and consumers
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
· 3-5 years of experience in a similar position
· Prior experience in the cosmetics industry, preferably in specialty/mass/drug channel marketing
· Must possess financial Knowledge
· Ability to interpret research data & trends and draw application conclusions
· High experience level in managing Data, Systems, and processes
· High technical experience with Excel, databases, (ie Nielsen, etc)
· Successfully worked with cross functional teams
