Helium is transported in cryogenics ISO tanks and thus requires a just-in-time logistics to serve our customers in due time, while optimizing our assets and inventory management. To achieve the best results, this Supply Chain requires agility in planning, rapidity, reliability and visibility throughout the value chain.
The Helium market in the Americas encounters significant changes. Today, Helium is produced by only 10 sources worldwide, with the US representing more than 50% of the worldwide market supply. In coming years, US sources are expected to account for 25% of market supply; therefore, the market in the Americas will progressively become an importation market.
Air Liquide Helium America Inc. (ALHAi) is managing Americas Helium Sourcing, Business Development and Primary Logistics of Helium to more than 20 Air Liquide Helium transfill centers located throughout the USA (managed by AirGas), but also in Canada, Brazil and Argentina.
ALHAi is having its office in Houston, TX and is part of the Helium & Rare Gases Division of the Group, under the BU Global Markets & Technologies.
Helium teams are located worldwide: UAE (25 people), Germany (8), France (5), USA (6) and China (2).
We have more than 10 different nationalities represented in Helium teams.
You will be part of the ALHAi entity, reporting to ALHAi President and functionally attached to the WW Helium Supply Chain team.
Your main responsibilities will be to support the ALHAi team and/or take full responsibility for:
- America Helium Supply Chain Controlling
o Collaborate with Internal customers (mainly AirGas) and Helium Supply Chain team for enhanced visibility on customer demand per transfill center in order to build solid S&OP to optimise demand and supply
o Analyse key parameters of Helium America Logistics (Container rotation, holding days at customer, transport days, days at source, milage, logistics cost per kg of Helium, cool down cost at source) and define actions to improve such parameters
o Create a Visual Dashboard with relevant KPIs and Information for sharing on all WW Helium sites (live on TV)
o Define a KPI to monitor Customer Service Level (On Time delivery or other)
o Provide monthly America Supply Chain Flash reflecting key Supply Chain indicators
o Evaluate current and potential new supply logistic impacts, such as allocation per transfill, mileage and quality of product (e.g. lower grade product) and support the development of these sources
o Define the logistics resources requirements (Fleet of CTs, Trucking assets and Budget Logistics expenses per month) linked with the Supply
- Demand scheme.
o Active participation during the yearly financial target for estimating the ALHAi Supply Chain Budget for the following year
o Write procedures related to ALHAi supply chain activities
- Project Management: Support the program manager of the “Global Transformation of Logistics” program
o Analyse the gaps in supply chain processes and systems between our two Helium entities (ALHAi in USA and AL Global Helium in Dubai)
o Propose solutions to bridge the gaps for enhancing transparency and build a common vision on WW Helium Supply Chain (incl. access to real time visibility on sourcing and delivery plans, Transport cost, Safety, Customer Satisfaction, CTs tracking etc.)
o Define the need for upgrading the Helium Transport Management System (Orchestra) to fit the specificity of the USA Logistics
o Implement the existing Helium Digital applications (Wakeo, Customer Feedback Form, Orchestra) in the Americas and provide training to the users
o Deploy the real-time tracking digital solution to the USA land freight for providing ALHAi customers real time visibility on their orders
o Procurement
- Land Freight Contract Management
? Support WW Helium Freight Manager (based in Dubai) and the ALHAi team for managing the tender for USA Land Freight carriers (about 4mUSD)
? Establish Logistics Cost controlling dashboard to provide clear visibility on the transport costs per container delivered with breakdown enabling to identify sources of improvement
Profile :
Language: Fluent English is mandatory.

The VIE will start by an onboarding and deep dive of about one month in Dubai with the central Helium Supply Chain team (Air Liquide Global Helium FZE).
