Job Title: Senior Indirect Tax Accountant – Personal Property Tax

Location: Wayne, NJ

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

·  Personal property tax compliance for 250+ retail locations
·  Responsible for gathering data, identifying taxable assets for accurate preparation and filing of property tax renditions, ensuring compliance with jurisdictional requirements
·  Analysis of property tax assessments and appealing assessments as needed to ensure proper valuation of taxable assets
·  Assist with property tax audits including gathering, analysis and reconciliation of data, and negotiations with tax authorities to resolve disputes favorably
·  Maintain proficiency in state and local tax laws using tax research software
·  Work on special projects and research complex tax issues as required
·  Assist with other areas of indirect tax compliance, such as sales/use tax and business licenses

WHO YOU ARE

·  Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance required; advanced degree a plus
·  3+ years of relevant indirect tax/accounting experience; experience in a retail environment a plus
·  Knowledge of Vertex O Series, Vertex Returns, Avalara, and ERP software (Oracle, SAP, etc.)
·  Experience researching state & local tax laws and regulations using third party research tools such as CCH, TTR, BNA or Checkpoint
·  Strong experience with MS Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.  Experience with database tools such as Alteryx is a plus
·  Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
·  Organized and detail oriented with the ability to prioritize competing tasks, anticipate resource needs and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
·  Ability to carry out job responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner
·  Superior judgment and critical thinking skills
·  Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work with enthusiasm
·  Ability to work collaboratively with team and cross-functionally
