Job description

The MRTW Print Junior Designer will contribute to designing and supporting the development of a Collection or Special Project. This role will ensure the creation of prints aligns with the brand's aesthetics and is responsive to the needs of the Ready-to-Wear (RTW) Designers, as executed by Textile Designers.

Key Accountabilities

Research trends and inspirations:

·  Based on a theme or on Creative Director inputs, research inspiration thought:
·  Art, Museums, exhibitions
·  Suppliers
·  Archives
·  Web
·  Expositions
·  Books

Design and Collection Development:

·  Support the creation of images, motifs, and prints that align with the Collection or Special Projects, adhering to the brand's aesthetic.
·  Offer fresh ideas and perspectives.
·  Propose ideas for new prints.
·  Work closely with RTW Designers to determine the correct scaling and placement of prints on fabrics, ensuring the appropriate printing techniques are used.
·  Facilitate communication with Merchandising and Legal teams, updating them on print developments and incorporating their feedback.
·  Engage with various categories to maintain consistency throughout the Collection or Special Project.
·  Maintain clear and ongoing communication with suppliers, providing detailed specifications for drawings and prints on fabrics, and offering solutions for any challenges encountered.
·  Participate in the creativity of the category through knowledge of latest trends.
·  Monitor the marketplace to identify opportunities to stay ahead of the competitors.

Requirements

Functional

·  Previous experience or internship in a similar role is a definite advantage
·  Proficient in freehand drawing.
·  In-depth understanding of fashion, trends, designers, and the brand's history.
·  Knowledgeable about fabrics and printing techniques.
·  Creativity and the ability to align with the brand's aesthetic.
·  Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, as well as Microsoft Suite.
·  A team player with a positive attitude, capable of collaborating with diverse, multicultural team members.
·  Problem-solving skills, solution-focused with a proactive 'Can-do' approach.
·  Fluency English is required.
