Salary range - The budgeted salary range for this role is set at £31,800 - £37,000 (dependant on experience)

Contract type - This position is a Permanent contract

We know flexible working is important to you, and it is important to us too. The Partnership has adopted a blended working approach meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. The Design team aim for around 2-3 days a week in the office to connect and on a more ad-hoc basis to attend key meetings but again, are flexible on this.

Location - This role is based at our Victoria Head Office campus. Please note, any cost incurred as a result of travel to the office is the responsibility of the successful candidate. There is no travel allowance for this role. There is also a responsibility to visit our John Lewis branches / Suppliers / Trade Shows when necessary. You will be able to claim travel expenses for these journeys. 

· 
Travel to the Far East, China, India and Europe is required for this role.

·

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Womenswear design team, designing, developing and delivering original, modern and relevant designs for our John Lewis brand ANYDAY  dresses, soft separates, denim and tailoring.

ANYDAY has established itself as the go-to for a relaxed, modern & relevant wardrobe, at affordable prices. 

We focus on a collection of elevated modern staples, offering the ANYDAY customer thoughtfully designed pieces that we believe will become the cornerstones of her wardrobe.

Injections of trend relevant pieces alongside colour-pop accessories continually elevate outfitting as we move into the new season, whilst maintaining a consistent trend message across the entire brand.

Styling is youthful & preppy, with a sporty nod. Silhouettes are relaxed & effortlessly casual, celebrating a playful approach to mix-and-matching proportions.

Key responsibilities: 

You will take a key role in design projects, with support from the category design lead, and in collaboration with the buying, merchandising and tech teams.

· 
Play a critical role in delivering product design that will be aligned to brand / sub brand guidelines and aligning with customer needs. Support the Design Team and studio in fulfilling key tasks across the season. 

· 
Preparation and presentation of relevant and appropriate category trend research. 

· 
You will research thoroughly into your Category/Brands by setting out seasonal trend boards and colour palettes, have excellent illustration and cad skills, whilst being proficient in Adobe and other specialist design software. 

· 
Ensure the sampling process is efficient. Produce precise design packs and fulfil seasonal design briefs with commercial and innovative solutions, supported by illustrating / briefing / sourcing key materials and details. Ensure accurate samples are produced.

· 
Work collaboratively with all levels of buying, merchandise and the technical team to co-create the briefs & deliver identified outcomes ensuring that these align with the brand guidelines.

Essential skills you’ll need: 

· 
Experience in designing trendy and modern soft separates, dresses, trousers, denim and tailoring.

· 
An excellent knowledge of fabrics.

· 
Excellent skills in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, photoshop etc) and other specialist design software.

· 
Experience in stakeholder management, working and liaising with suppliers

· 
Excellent communication and presentation skills 

· 
Experience formulating briefs

· 
A strong understanding of the JL&P brand and / or sub brands, their brand values and potential for product

Desirable skills you’ll have:

· 
BA degree in Design (product, fashion, furniture, textiles, surface pattern, decorative arts)

· 
Relevant industry experience within a design studio
