Description

What’s the role about?
The role of a Buying Assistant is to provide accurate and efficient administrative support for the Buyership. This will enable it to deliver authoritative and distinctive product ranges that delight our customers all whilst maximising sales and profit contribution within a fast-paced, often pressurised environment. In addition supporting their teams and Buying Assistants, liaise with other internal departments, branches and external suppliers to ensure that product-related queries are responded to accurately and promptly, ticketing and promotional materials are created, and the critical path is up to date.

The role also involves managing the sample handling process, and ensuring products pass due diligence and quality inspection tests. In addition, a key part of the role is to gather information on competitors.

What will you be doing as a Buying Assistant?

- Understanding and identifying correct stakeholders to influence in order to achieve goals.
- Following up with suppliers promptly and answering any queries.
- Effectively working with internal stakeholders to implement the creative vision.
- Managing the day to day communication with our brands, attending appointments with the opportunity for autonomy and buying responsibility.
- Demonstrating strong commercial awareness of the market place and key competitors
- Following appropriate Buying office processes.
- Contributing to the Buying offices' ways of working to improve processes where necessary.
- Coordinating and monitoring online content, updating information as required.
- Monitoring competitors and actions price changes to uphold ‘Never Knowingly Undersold’ trading policy.

What you'll have:

We would love to hear from candidates who either have previous experience working within beauty or fashion or have a keen interest in the beauty or fashion industry

- Previous experience working in Buying - this also includes work experience/shadowing.
- Great organisational skills, with a passion for Buying.

- Experience working in Fashion or Beauty buying
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build both internal and external relationships.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
