Title: Communications - Part-Time Student - Fargo, ND - 60261 

Your Responsibilities

JDES Unit Communications | Digital Signage, Graphic Design Development, Employee Engagement Communications, Internal Website Updates, and Video Support (70%)

 

·  Develops employee engagement communications | Coordinates and integrates various communication media to share business-related information with unit employees to ensure understanding of business goals and objectives.
·  Monitors and updates digital signage | Design of new slides and working with various departments to update regular features, such as the employee milestones, training classes being offered, and employee events.
·  Reviews JDES Global John Deere Online homepage | Keeps content refreshed on the homepage, updates standing features, and works on departmental requests for announcements or updates to links on the page.
·  Provide graphic design development and support | Works with Communication Specialist on graphics needed to help employees understand our robust strategic initiatives and employee events. 
·  Prepares unit communications | Develops content with guidance from Communications Specialist for weekly email newsletter, bi-weekly communications, and other employee messages. 
 

JDES Communications Inbox Management (15%) 
 

·  Distributes/responds to emails appropriately; works with Communication Specialist to develop communications to be sent from this inbox  
 

JDES Video and PowerPoint Support (15%) 
 

·  Assists with publishing, pasting and light editing of potential video requests
·  Provides support in laying-out and sourcing photos and information for presentations as needed. 

 

Assists with other unit communication activities, as needed:

 

·  Photography | Take photos at various events for use in presentations, John Deere Online, promotional materials, etc.
·  Brand management | Ensures the John Deere brand guidelines are applied on communications, print, and licensed products for unit
 
 
What it Takes
·  General understanding of communications planning processes and measurement techniques
·  General understanding of communication theories, especially employee/internal communications
·  Works with multiple media such as video, design, print
·  Beginner to intermediate understanding of Adobe products such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign 
·  Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office, plus internet and intranet functions 
·  High level of attention to detail and accuracy
·  Good interpersonal and team communication skills 
·  Skill in planning, organizing and deploying projects
·  Pursuing a four-year college degree in Communication or Graphic Design; others may apply
·  Must be registered as a full-time student at a local university
·  Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
·  Graduation date of May 2021 or later
·  Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
·  12 - 20 hours/week during the academic year 
·  30 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester
 
A Strong Candidate Will Also Have
·  Writing experience 
·  Video filming and editing experience
·  Experience using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft tools 
·  Project management experience
