Your Purpose

I ensure:
·  our check-out service is fast and efficient for our customers and cost-effective for the IKEA store
·  payment is handled in a reliable, efficient, accurate and friendly way
·  customers are guided to the appropriate check-out
·  support and consistent coaching to check-out co-workers in their daily work  
My aim is to create a positive experience for our customers, so they will want to return and shop with us again. I use the IKEA tools and expertise of my colleagues to support me in achieving this.

Your Assignment
·  Promote a safe and respectful work environmentwhere the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers
·  You ensure our check-out co-workers have the knowledge, confidence, responsibility, authority and desire to support customer payment and that they achieve this in an efficient and simple way
·  You are available to support the check-out co-workers when they cannot resolve a customer’s need, dealing positively and quickly with issues raised by our customers
·  You spend your working time in the check-out area, supporting the check-out co-workers and ensuring customers leave with a positive impression of the IKEA store and want to come back and shop more frequently with us
·  Our check-outs are efficiently equipped at all times throughout the day, and co-workers are ready and available to help customers
·  You follow up on the queuing policy and waiting times in the check-out area and take action to ensure we meet the expectations set by IKEA and our Customers
·  You work with your manager to identify root cause of recurring problems, agreeing and implementing improved ways of working and following-up to ensure we have been successful in resolving the problem for future customers. Where appropriate you work with your colleagues in other functions to implement changes which will improve our customers’ satisfaction
·  You ensure there is the right number of co-workers in the right place at the right time to run the check-out area successfully
·  You are responsible for your own development and look to my manager to support me in improving my competence
·  You are invested in the coaching and development of all co-workers to help achieve departmental goals and meet IKEA policies and values
·  Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as they occur and/or as directed Your Qualifications
·  Ability to prioritise and organise work and the work of others in order to make the most efficient use of the time available
·  Experience managing a team in hectic day-to-day operations, able to set expectations for others and provide clear direction and follow up
·  Confident decision-maker
·  Able to establish trustful relationships and commitments with coworkers across all levels of the organization
·  Self-reliant with a proven ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
·  Solution-oriented, able to find new and more efficient ways of working
·  Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
·  Ability to plan staffing of cash line according to the customer flow.
·  Experience of actively meeting customer needs through understanding your customers in a service industry
·  Engaging communicator able to adapt style to suit the situation and individual
·  Fit for physical work such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, standing and walking for at least 90% of shift
·  Good analytical skills
·  Fluent in English (written and verbal skills)
·  Experience of check-out service gained in the Retail industry  
Your Availability & Work Week   
·  Mustbe available to work days, evenings, and weekends (open availability)
·  You will be scheduled over a 4 or 5-day period, depending on business needs.
·  You will work both Saturday and Sunday shifts, with the exception of 2 out of 8 weekends off.
·  You will be scheduled for a minimum of two (2) closing shifts per week.
·  Every effort will be made to schedule two (2) consecutive days off. Your Business Partners    
·  Reports to: Checkout Services Manager and Checkout Services Team Lead
·  Supervises: Checkout Co-Workers  Growing Together
