We are currently recruiting for a Senior Development Chef to join our existing team
PURPOSE OF ROLE:
To support and Inspire Iceland product development, product sign off panel. PR internal & external. Renovate product ranges through all categories.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
· Inspire development panels/ facilitate taste/quality panels
· Provide feedback to buyers, technologists and suppliers
· Inspire Unique ranges//recipes for Iceland
· Lead seasonal trend workshops inline with category strategy
· Be the voice of the customer during the product development process (especially when working with suppliers)
· Support key initiatives promoting products to colleagues if required
· Cook/prepare for panels if necessary
· Work with PR & events teams to land seasonal projects
· Keep up to date with NPD timelines in order to prioritise
· Embed trend/inspiration session through the year in tandem with category strategy
BEHAVIOURAL CAPABILITIES:
· Confidence when dealing with colleagues/suppliers – having the ability to say No/firmly portray customer viewpoint when necessary
· Sound judgement skills, able to rationalise panellists comments and ensure reports identify the most relevant information
· Lead project teams from a culinary stand point
· Lead wokshops / inspiration sessions to inspire teams across the business
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
· Culinary skills and knowledge of cooking methods- restaurant standards/experience
· Manufacturing experience
· PC skill – use of Microsoft
· Knowledge of Food Safety Act 1990, Food Safety (temperature control regulations) 1995 and HACCP requirements
QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:
· Driving licence
· Minimum 3-5 yrs experience within a food product development or similar role
· Educated to HNC/HND or degree level or to have equivalent experience.
· Competitor awareness in terms of New Product Development
