Job description
· Prepare and cook a variety of steamed dishes according to hotel standards and recipes.
· Manage ingredient preparation, ensuring proper handling and portioning for steaming processes.
· Maintain cleanliness in the work area, including the proper cleaning of utensils, steamers, and cooking equipment.
· Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure dishes are perfectly steamed and flavourful.
· Collaborate with other kitchen sections to ensure timely delivery of steamed dishes to the service department.
· Follow food safety and hygiene standards, adhering to hotel policies and procedures.
· Assist in the development of new steamed dish offerings, including experimenting with flavours and techniques.
· Adhere to the hotel's health and safety guidelines.
· To perform any duties assigned by the Management Team deemed necessary.
Desired profile
Qualifications :
· Knowledge of food hygiene and food safety management systems (HACCP)
· Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
· Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on culinary excellence
· Able to work independently
· Familiarity with kitchen operations
· Able to work under pressure, in a dynamic and fast paced environment
· Minimum 1 - 3 years of experience in hotel industry with similar positions
