About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for a full-time Payroll Officer to join the shared services payroll team for Hyatt (Pacific) based in Melbourne. The position will be responsible for processing the fortnightly pay run for several hotels; ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations while ensuring a high level of service is provided to the hotels.
Some responsibilities include
· Perform end to end fortnightly pay runs for hotels ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll.
· Process interim pay runs for back pays and termination pays.
· Respond to pay queries from hotels in a timely manner.
· Reconcile payroll tax, process garnishees and ensure payroll records are updated in a timely & accurate manner.
· Input data into systems as needed including the rostering / time & attendance system and HRIS while being able to troubleshoot problems as they arise
· Maintain up to date knowledge in all areas of payroll, taxation, awards, local labor laws ensuring we are compliant at all times.
Desired profile
Qualifications :
· Previous experience in a similar role is essential
· Demonstrated aptitude in computer systems such as payroll system administration, rostering system administration and excel. Experience in Peoplesoft, iChris, Microster (or other rostering system) would be highly advantageous.
· Comprehensive knowledge of Modern Awards, State and Federal legislation
· Exceptional communication skills & the ability to build productive relationships across many sites
· Strong problem-solving skills, organization skills and attention to detail
