Laundry Attendant

Job description

Duties and responsibilities related to the Laundry Attendant role:

· Collect soiled linens, towels, and uniforms from various departments within the hotel
· Sort laundry by color, fabric type, and level of soiling to ensure proper washing procedures are followed
· Inspect items for stains and damage, applying pre-treatment solutions to remove stubborn marks before washing
· Weigh laundry loads to ensure machines are not overloaded and operate efficiently
· Operate commercial washing machines and dryers, selecting the appropriate cycles for different types of fabrics
· Add the correct amounts of detergents, softeners, and other cleaning chemicals as required
· Monitor machine operations to ensure they are functioning correctly and report any malfunctions to the supervisor
· Promptly unload wet laundry and transfer it to dryers to prevent mildew
· Carefully fold and stack clean linens, towels, and garments according to established standards
· Operate pressing and ironing equipment to ensure a smooth and professional finish on items such as sheets, tablecloths, and uniforms.
· Hang garments as needed and prepare items for delivery to guests or various hotel departments
· Organize and store clean laundry in designated areas, ensuring the linen room is tidy and well-maintained.
· Maintain an accurate inventory of laundry supplies, such as detergents and chemicals, and notify management when stock is low.
· Assist with regular inventory counts of all linen to track stock levels and identify any shortages.
· Prepare and package guest laundry for return, ensuring all items are accounted for and presented neatly.

Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the laundry facility at all times.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

·  Minimum 1 years work experience hotel operations
·  Good problem solving, administrative and interpersonal skills are a must
