Global Asset Management, the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC's worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. Global Asset Management fulfills its purpose of connecting HSBC's clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Trader, Fixed Income .

Principal responsibilities
· Execute fixed income trades in Asian bonds in accordance with portfolio managers instructions. Typically government securities will be traded in local currency and will be primarily, but not limited to foreign currencies.
· Execute forex trades originating from Business Support and MiddleBack Office and the portfolio managers
· Provide market feedback and information to the portfolio managers and be able to clearly articulate our process and philosophy
· Build and develop relationships with brokers and banks
· Leadership through being knowledgeable, efficient and demonstrate initiative
· Provide back up where necessary and as instructed for other trading functions
· Any execution, analytical or compliance related report as requested
· Ensure the accurate and efficient execution of all instruments with brokers
· Follow up with Business Support or Middle Back Office on issues that need attention and support as required

Desired profile

Requirements
·  University degree preferably in Commerce, Economics or Business Administration with solid experience in trading
·  Strong leadership and management skills
·  Well developed interpersonal and influencing skills
·  Proven track record in trading, building and developing relationships with brokers and banks
·  Seasoned trader and good understanding of local and foreign business and market
·  Strong quantitative and analytical skills including ability to think outside the box
·  Strong time management skills with excellent self motivation
