The Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) Manager
- Digital Marketing role is based within Based in the UK retail bank, in the digital marketing team looking after the Public website.
The primary responsibility is to oversee, manage and fundamentally improve the SEO rankings, content roadmap, relevance and authority of natural search for HSBC. They will sit as a part of team tasked with driving positive interactions and sales from the public websites, regardless of device.

The role will require an understanding of the website and the power of content that’s drives a better customer experience from the natural search source.
Your responsibilities will include:
Oversee and manage the natural search strategy for HSBC UK
Work with external agencies to rapidly progress our rankings across our key products
Work with Social to have a clear mapped out content strategy that delivers the right content in the right way to support HSBC as a source of financial relevancy and authority
- helping them to understand and make the right financial decisions
Stakeholder Management: Building and maintaining strong relations with key stakeholders
- Product, proposition, compliance and other marketing peers. Involves high level of collaboration, clear communication and co-ordination in order to deliver quality digital experiences.
Working with HSBC global to get the best SEO learnings and measurement Key Performance Indicator’s (KPI's)
Support the mobilisation of the site, develop the SEO strategy that is fully mobile first
Desired profile
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Financial Services, Telco or Retail
Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Digital Marketing
- Natural Search (SEO)
Role relevant qualifications, i.e. Degree Qualified
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Significant experience in natural search driving content and ranking success
Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Credit Cards, Loans, Mortgages, current accounts, investments would be a bonus is desirable but not essential
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Digital Marketing is desirable but not essential
A track record of gaining an understanding of customers' needs and delivering excellent customer service
Proven experience of motivating others to deliver exceptional performance and long terms results
Experience of making prompt and practical business decision, even in times of ambiguity, considering various perspectives and taking responsibility for outcomes
Experience of creating and deploying comprehensive business/operating plans which consistently deliver desired results
Proven experience of successful project management, utilising relevant tools and techniques to ensure consistent delivery
In addition to the details listed above, the ideal candidate will have significant website management experience
The base location for this role is 8 Canada Square, London.
We are required by the Financial Services (Banking Reform) Act 2013 to create a ring-fenced bank in the UK by 1 January 2019. We will create the head office of our ring-fenced bank in Birmingham. This role may be relocated to Birmingham from 2017. Where the role holder is willing to move and it is practical to do so, the role may relocate before this time.
