We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Portfolio Services Manager.
Principal responsibilities
· The role will work with all the Global MSS Programme Managers, MSS Head of Strategy and Planning as well as the MSS Transformation CoE leadership to support programme and portfolio governance, reporting and control.
· Establishing appropriate governance and cadence, creation of reports and insights enabling decision making, driving continuous improvement and efficiency gains through use of innovation and automation.
· Working closely with the delivery lead(s), key programme stakeholders and MSS Central Portfolio team to ensure programme related updates are appropriately captured, progress highlighted, and key challenges escalated to the necessary governance forums (PSC/ Execution Board/ External forums etc.).
· Assess and manage delivery is driven as per processes and tolerances outlined in the Ways of Working, mitigating, or escalating deviations as appropriate.
· Act as the first port of call for all information related to the portfolio or programme under remit; Act as the Change Framework champion, ensuring adherence, as well as cascading and implementing any changes as per updates prescribed by the Framework.
· Govern and define data quality standards & monitoring for Portfolio or Programme, while maintaining alignment with reporting standards as prescribed by the Business or wider (Group) transformation teams.
· Support governance of business case to ensure business cases are updated/ refreshed periodically through appropriate change control to remain relevant through the programme lifecycle.
· Work with Programme stakeholder and Delivery lead to control delivery through relevant checkpoint (tollgate/ stage-gate) to reduce risk to delivery and assure appropriate transitions through the lifecycle including embedding of the change.
· Work with other IT teams (global and regional), regional transformation team ensuring collation and dissemination of information is effective and efficient through usage of standardized processes and tools.
· Ensure PMO services are standardized across portfolio and aligned to the support the delivery leads and Senior Management to take informed decisions to aid delivery in line to group/ functional strategy and targets.
· Design, develop or tailor standardised frameworks, processes & tools, working across the global community sharing best practice; Keep focus on the medium- and long-term goals and the Group’s values particularly when under short term pressure; The role holder needs to perform his/her duties in alignment with the applicable Risk and Compliance frameworks.
Requirements
· Understanding of the project lifecycle and ‘change’ methodologies.
· Experience in leading Programme assurance and support for large, complex multi-year programmes.
· Prior experience in working on complex regulatory change programmes.
· Thorough understanding of HSBC Change Framework as well as relevant Risk Management Framework (NFR) with particular emphasis on Change Execution Risk and associated controls.
· Experience in working cross GB/GF with multiple stakeholders having evidenced ability to collaborate and negotiate.
· Programme Management skills and experience; including supporting multi-year business change projects, programmes & portfolios.
· Evidence of strong communication and influencing skills; Problem solving skills / driving continuous improvements to existing processes.
· Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines; Attention to detail is essential, as dealing with sensitive datasets in a regulatory context.
· Experience designing data visualization dashboards and wireframes (e.g. Qlik, Tableau) preferred; Working knowledge of PPM tools (Clarity, JIRA, Rally).
· Knowledge of audit processes and SOX controls; An understanding of the banking & capital markets regulatory environment.
