Job description
The Senior Insight Manager role is based within the UK RBWM Business Performance department and is part of the Business Steering and Management team. The role reports to the Senior Multi-channel Performance Analytics and Reporting Manager and is responsible for leading a team of 5 Managers (GCB5).
The role of the Senior Insight Manager is to leads a team who are responsible for the design, development, delivery, maintenance and communication of performance reporting for units and individuals across all channels including Branch Network, HSBC Direct, Wealth Management and Business Banking.
This role supports our frontline colleagues by ensuring they have the right data to understand and meet their Customer needs, and is therefore a key part of RBWM and the continuous improvements to the service delivered to the customer. Insight system (pulse) HSBC system, Query Studio (Cognos - a management information system),Excel, Powerpoint, Word. The team also has staff based in Hamilton (Scotland) so there may be opportunity to travel there. Business Performance is a team spread across the UK and as part of this role there may be a requirement to travel in order to work collaboratively with those colleagues.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing a team of (GCB5 graded) 5 managers.
Leading the team and ensuring that the design, development, delivery, maintenance and communication of performance reporting is delivered.
Planning, driving and executing the continuous development and improvement of this Insight (a management information system) reporting and the data held within the modules working closely with BI and IT adopting the ‘Agile’ methodology.
Managing the annual BI budget for Insight, ensuring value for money and tracking delivery.
Working closely with IT (BI, global change delivery, and IT) to map out the future requirements for the RBWM Business from Insight reporting including possible user front ends and other new technology.
Supporting the recommendations and requirements for improvements in management reporting, resulting from the flagship Simplifying Growth programme.
Desired profile
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of All HSBC or RBWM or equivalent products and services knowledge is key.
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Team Management / line management experience and mentoring and coaching a team is essential.
Availability to undertake the travel required for this role, i.e. 5% occasional travel as and when required for various meetings across the UK.
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. UK RBWM or equivalent environment is desirable but not essential
Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Knowledge of Wealth, Network, HSBC Direct or equivalent , Premier or equivalent procedures and processes would be desirable. is desirable but not essential
Role relevant qualifications, i.e. Banking or Financial qualification would be a nice to have but not on key. is desirable but not essential
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. MI / Analytical or equivalent role would be a bonus. is desirable but not essential
Past working experience on relevant systems, i.e. Insight or equivalent system is desirable but not essential
A track record of delivering significant change which improves business effectiveness in sustainable ways
Set and achieved challenging short, medium and long term goals which exceeded the standards in their field
Proven experience of leading others and creating an environment that supports and inspires people to develop and deliver
Excellent written and spoken communication skills with experience of successfully influencing others, negotiating effectively and winning over audiences with compelling and persuasive presentations
Built effective networks both internally and externally and created opportunities for others to work collaboratively
Experience of creating and deploying comprehensive business/operating plans which consistently deliver desired results
A broad understanding of financial budgets/statements/models, with experience of analysing data effectively for planning, forecasting and reporting
In addition to the details listed above, the ideal candidate will be able to navigate and manage a wide range of stakeholder requirements and therefore have strong communication and networking skills and be able to articulate in a clear and concise manner in order to deliver maximum benefit from a limited budget.
The base location for this role is London.
