Job description
The Senior Employee Relations Manager role is based within Employee Relations, Human Resources.
The role of the Senior Employee Relations Manager is to provide Employee Relations (ER) support to the Retail Bank and Wealth Management business lines as well as to guide and develop ER specialists and to provide ER project support.
Your responsibilities will include:
Impact on the Business
Guide the business on complex Case Management, Restructuring and Redundancy, TUPE etc
Management of highly complex cases
Own and manage relationship with relevant HR Generalists, and other stakeholders such as Legal
Customers / Stakeholders
Partner with HR generalists to provide solutions to Employee Relations issues
Partner with senior management across supported business lines to provide sound Employee Relations support
Partner with other Functions such as Legal and Compliance
Leadership & Teamwork
Working with the ER Lead and Head of ER on coaching and developing of ER Specialists improving technical ER skills and consulting skills
Operational Effectiveness & Control
Has an understanding of the consequences of legal, compliance and governance issues, and their associated risks, and ensures they are effectively managed in all markets and reflected in HR practices
Desired profile
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. High expectation environment
Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Change environment
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Extensive experience of managing formal internal disputes (from investigation stage; to hearing stage; to outcome)
Experience and knowledge of TUPE and Redundancy activity
Availability to undertake the travel required for this role, i.e. As required to manages cases and to advise / work on projects - should be no more than 2-3 days a week
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Banking, Financial Service or Professional Services. Union experience is desirable but not essential
Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
Experience of making prompt and practical business decision, even in times of ambiguity, considering various perspectives and taking responsibility for outcomes
The base location for this role is London.
