The Senior Digital Release Manager role is based within the Digital Centre of Excellence, RBWM, Europe, Middle East & North Africa , the operational centre of digital for HSBC supporting digital transformation, and offers exposure to all business areas of the bank, and an opportunity to work with teams all around the world.

The Senior Digital Release Manager is accountable for all business planning activity to support the rollout of the strategic digital platforms into EMEA markets in HSBC and ongoing release of new features. This will include activity to ensure that all business tasks including operational impact assessment, internal and external communications, copy review, training, business readiness, and implementation are planned in. The roleholder will work with peers in other regions and will face off to technical release managers to manage a single release level plan for all markets.
 
The Senior Digital Release Manager will have leadership accountability for a team of Lead Digital Analysts and Digital Analysts who will support release and implementation activity for all strategic and legacy projects.
 
Your responsibilities will include:
Management of overall release plan and release backlog ensuring that all business activity is tracked
Working with technical teams to produce implementation plans and to support release and post implementation activity
Development of the release management process across all markets ensuring robust governance is in place

Desired profile

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Experience of managing a team leading business activity to support the delivery of digital change across regions/markets
Exceptional analytical, planning and governance skills
Leadership experience in customer focused organizations, in disciplines such as digital, programme or change management skills motivating and inspiring others to excel
Subject Matter Expertise of online and mobile channels, including technical, market place and customer considerations.
Strong commercial focus, ability to balance risks vs. rewards and maximize cost effectiveness and profitability for the business.
Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal, to explain complex or technical issues
Pragmatic decision making skills, with the ability to make clear judgments based on data and understand the implications.
Ability to lead and influence
Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills to satisfy a wide range of internal and external customers with conflicting priorities
Excellent understanding of project methodology, frameworks and best practice
The base location for this role is Park Street, London or Leeds
 
This role will require an element of national and international travel.
