The Sales Manager (Mortgages Intermediaries) role is based within the UK RBWM Distribution team.
The role of the Sales Manager (Mortgages Intermediaries) is to deliver HSBC’s third-party mortgage intermediaries mortgage growth ambitions through a national team of business development managers (BDMs). The BDM team is responsible for the development and leveraging of quality, meaningful relationships with selected partners at regional, local and consultant level. The Sales Manager will have additional responsibility to build strong commercially focussed relationships with senior stakeholders at national account level as well as build collaborative internal relationships with key influencers within HSBC
Your responsibilities will include:
Maintain a detailed knowledge of HSBC mortgage products, policy and processes supported through strong internal relationships especially with the key operational areas: Secured Lending Services and Retail Credit Services
Maintain a detailed knowledge of the your partners business, including business strategy, structure, business written, customer base profile, distribution strategy, and competitor relationships
Lead a team of BDMs to deliver against stretching business objectives, challenging and re-evaluating BDM plans, agreeing and implementing remedial activity as required.
Identify and deliver opportunities to broaden the relationship/ product portfolio, maximise potential, and add value to all parties.
Manage across a wide network of internal and external stakeholders in respect of any relationship issues/opportunities that are identified through BDM feedback and/or senior national account discussions.
Desired profile
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Mortgage Intermediary market knowledge
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Strong track record of sales management, specifically a national based team of remote BDMs
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Proven relationship management skills
Proven experience of leading the delivery of an excellent customer service and proactively look for innovative ways to improve the service delivered to customers
A track record of delivering significant change which improves business effectiveness in sustainable ways
Proven experience of motivating others to deliver exceptional performance and long terms results
A flexible and adaptable management style with experience of developing yourself and others
Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
Built effective networks both internally and externally and created opportunities for others to work collaboratively
A track record of making strategic business decisions, considering relevant risks, long term implications, commercial realities and stakeholders'' needs
Experience of creating and deploying comprehensive business/operating plans which consistently deliver desired results
A comprehensive understanding of business finance and management information and an ability to use this information to inform decisions and deliver efficiencies/savings
A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes
Acted as a strategic advisor to customers, having established and built valuable long-term relationships with significant customers
A track record of successfully identifying and developing significant/complex business propositions, that attract and entrench customers, in a fair and ethical way
