Role Purpose
RFP function
· RFP is a global function within AMG Global Client Strategy. The RFP function is responsible for completion of RFPs for institutional and wholesale clients to support the sale of AMG investment services. RFP teams are also responsible for the completion of other client documents (e.g. RFIs [1] ) and the support (in conjunction with RFP Data Administrator) of third-party consultant databases and AMG Consultant Relations sales' strategy.
Role purpose
· Completes RFPs, RFIs and related documents for institutional and wholesale clients.
· Works with internal stakeholders in AMG to ensure high quality articulation to clients of AMG investment philosophy, capabilities, processes and funds.
· Works with RFP colleagues in other regions to support cross-border RFPs, RFIs and other client documents.
· Supports Global Head of RFPs in building the global RFP function.

· Cross-border collaboration with RFP and other AMG colleagues.

Major Challenges
· Delivering high quality client documents in short timeframes.
· Dealing with demanding and sometimes conflicting stakeholder / internal client requirements.
· Working with a broad range of stakeholders / internal clients in different AMG functions and offices.
· Identifying ways to improve everyday work methods and processes to improve efficiency and service.
· Balancing integration with the Global RFP function while servicing local and cross-border clients.
Role Context
· Based in the UK, but has regional and global responsibilities in the context of the global RFP function.
· The operating environment is driven by client needs, often involving significant cross-border collaboration with other RFP teams.
· Client documents such as RFPs and RFIs are content- and data-intensive and usually have tight deadlines that are not set by RFP. This requires constant and careful work planning and management, managing the expectations of stakeholders, clear communication and attention to detail.
· It also often requires solving problems relating to interpretation and data availability, to produce a high quality client documents in a limited amount of time.
Role Dimensions
· New business development: the London RFP team supports AMG Institutional and Wholesale Sales primarily in the UK and Middle East.
· Regional support and oversight: provide to other AMG offices local firm and product content, etc.
Management of Risk
· Is aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and acts in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.
Observation of Internal Controls
· Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
· Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.
Desired profile
Technical
· Detailed knowledge of RFPs, RFIs and related client documents, including regulations, compliance requirements and delivery processes.
· Sound understanding of investment products and markets and client requirements, preferably in products for which AMG has a specialization.
· Good knowledge of performance systems, reporting systems, third party performance databases and institutional reporting standards (GIPS).
Personal
· Strong communication skills, including investment writing and oral discussion / presentation.
· Strong project and people management skills.
· Ability to work effectively in a deadline-oriented environment.
· Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and their sometimes conflicting expectations and requirements.
· Attention to detail, commitment to high quality work standards and the ability to ensure quality standards are maintained under time and stakeholder pressure.
Qualifications
· University degree or equivalent qualification preferred, preferably with an investment or finance focus.
· Previous RFP and / or related functional experience (minimum 5 years).
· Commensurate written and spoken language skills.
