Role Overview
The role is part of the Chief Control Officer (CCO) function in Global Operations. The purpose of the role is support the Regional /Country KYC Operations Business Service colleagues within HSBC Operations, Services and Technology (HOST) to deliver safe and secure services to all our customers, colleagues and the Bank itself. Continually reassessing the changing regulatory environment and the impact of new technology and changes from the wider Global regulatory landscape. KYC Operations perform account opening, closing and maintenance activity relating to the provision of banking services, in a highly regulated environment; a key part of this activity is the completion of appropriate Customer Due Diligence, or Enhanced Due Diligence where appropriate in accordance with Global Standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Ensure that robust risk governance exists and ensuring all stakeholders have visibility of key risks and remediation activity;
· Monitoring risk appetite in line with business requirements;
· Assist in providing high quality and efficient reviews of Business Services control performance;
· Facilitating controls remediation where required;
· Raising awareness and understanding of risks, controls and risk management;
· Continuously improving the control and monitoring of risk, including behaviors
· Drive effective design of material operational controls
· Drive effective design, analysis and remediation of control measures
· Perform deep dive reviews on risk & control environment
· Provide controls consultancy, advice and guidance
· Apply and critique Risk and Control Framework
· Apply and critique definition and application of policies, control standards and procedures
Desired profile
Qualifications :
Experience & Qualifications
· Detailed understanding of KYC Operations, including Know Your Customer / Customer Due Diligence Activity
· Good relationship management, and influencing skills with experience of positive, challenging interactions with senior management.
· Previous experience in Banking Operations, KYC / CDD Operations or Risk Management
· Clear understanding of, and experience in, managing operational risk.
· Communication - Ability to present complex issues confidently and concisely to Senior Management, Global HOST Management team and key stakeholders using simple language and accommodating globally distributed stakeholders
· Analysis/strategy – Ability to distil complex and varied information into useful, insightful and concise recommendations.
· Drive and self-motivation
· Proactive and delivery focused to ensure individual tasks are completed on time and to the required levels of quality.
· Ability and drive to successfully deliver multiple, wide-ranging priorities, often under stringent time pressures in a dynamic environment
· Good planning, and organization skills
· Make considered decisions that protect and enhance HSBC values, reputation and business.
· Ability to build senior relationships by communicating, influencing and negotiating effectively with senior management, key stakeholder and internal management teams.
