We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Investment Manager, Equities Portfolio Management.
 
Principal responsibilities
Lead the management of regional Asian equities mandates in a team setting.  Existing mandates of the team include global equities, Asian equities, South East Asian equities and China equities (offshore). 
Work closely with other colleagues in the team to leverage on ideas owned in other country mandates, and to introduce additional stock ideas.
Perform at the highest level with the ability to perform bottom-up fundamental equity research, while not losing sight of the broader market.
Conduct sector/thematic/company fundamental research on Asian stocks.
Partner with product specialists, portfolio/investment counselors and relationship managers to service clients and to appropriately position strategies and products, including presenting performance and investment strategies in regular client reviews and prospect pitches, and providing input to monthly marketing materials.
Contribute to Asia Investment Committee discussion.  Formulate and implement investment strategies for client accounts within the broad guidance of Global and Asia Investment Committees, as well as of the portfolio management team.
Handle day-to-day portfolio management and monitoring of segregated client accounts with customized investment guidelines, working closely with Risk Management and Middle Office in portfolio administration.

Desired profile

Requirements
Passion for investment with strong analytical and fundamental stock research ability.
Good investment track record with proven ability to work in a team-oriented investment process.
Qualified to be licensed as representative for types 1, 4 and 9 regulated activities under the Securities and Futures Ordinance in Hong Kong, and for fund management under the Securities and Futures Act in Singapore.
Solid investment and portfolio management in Asian equities.  Geographical coverage of portfolio management experience includes MSCI All Country Far East ex-Japan universe.  Hands-on knowledge of Taiwan and Korea (or regional technology sector), and preferably also ASEAN/China A-share market
University degree in business, economics or equivalent.  CFA preferred.
Attention to details in own work as well as in supervising/checking work of junior support staff.
Good communication and presentation skills.  Experience in interacting and serving a diverse client base preferred but not required.
Prior experience in conducting equity research or discretionary portfolio management in a private banking environment preferred but not required.
Fluent in English and Chinese: Chinese reading and Mandarin speaking are required; Cantonese speaking is preferred.
The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting.
