Within the Global Trade and Receivables Finance Department, the International Guarantees Department is in charge of the issuance and the management of International Guarantees as well as Domestic Guarantees for Commercial (CMB) and Global Banking & Markets (GBM) clients and its subsidiaries.

Hierarchical relationship: Middle-Office Team Manager

Missions :

The International Guarantees Analyst, under our Legal delegation, is managing the drafting and the monitoring of export guarantees for all HSBC France network customers and for intra-group's or outside-group's customers in all countries.

Issuance and Amendment Activities:

- Collect all the underlying documentation related to the transaction (copy of the underlying contract, tender documents, Invoices etc....);
- Understand the underlying transactions' context (purpose of the contract, operational scheme, parties involved, etc…);
- Identify operational and legal risks (litigious clauses or unclear for the Bank) in in order to preserve HSBC and our customer's best interests;
- Be the “go-to-person” for all GTRF services globally to coordinate transaction services, BDM, RM, FCC, Legal and other internal/external staff for Service performance and issue transactions;
- Help our client with the negotiation of the terms of the guarantees issued and the Application letters;
- Ensure that the transactions complies with the requirements of our Global Standards, of all applicable laws and regulations, Group policies, procedures, standards and Ethics;
- Provide legal advice to customers;
- Negotiate the counter guarantee's terms with foreign correspondents which are reissuing guarantees on our behalf;
- Manage amendments, renewal or release of the Guarantees;
- Lead specific reporting to dedicated customers or manage specific tasks such as Rent Guarantee's Indexation; Evergreen Renewal, or Syndicated guarantees' reporting.

Transversal activities:

- Negotiate Framework agreements and Participation agreements for syndicated transactions;
- Contribute to the positive client experience as evidenced from client reviews/meetings, and external feedback;
- Help the management to handle, own and resolve clients' transactional queries, issues and complaints;
- Monitor transactions to contribute to a better understanding of our SLA, and improve our internal process.

Desired profile



Qualifications :

Profile :
- Knowledge and experience in Guarantees and processes is essential;
- CSDG certification is highly desirable;
- Master degree on Business law, International Trade law, or Business school;
- Ability for guarantee's legal analysis and wording's drafting;
- High commitment to service excellence and client relationship management;
- Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills with excellent written, oral and presentation skills;
- Strong relationship and network building skills. Collaborative approach to working is essential;
- Ability to challenge the current processes and operations through the use of influencing and negotiating skills;
- Ability to deliver difficult messages and remain calm under pressure;
- Current English and French.
