Head of Product Management, Global Payments Solutions (GPS)
Global Payments Solutions (GPS) offers a comprehensive range of cash management services from account and deposit management, payments and remittance, collection and receivables services, liquidity management and digital channel solutions to our corporate and commercial banking customers. We provide tailored solutions to our corporate customers as well as industries sector specific solution to our commercial banking customers. We are responsible to drive liabilities growth for the Commercial and Corporate Banking segments through the provision of leading cash management solutions to them. We are also steering the transaction banking FX growth for the bank. We focus on our customers’ needs in Greater China and aim to be the chosen one-stop cash management partner of choice for our customers across mainland China and Hong Kong.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Head of Product Management, Global Payments Solutions, reporting to Head of Global Payments Solutions.
Scope of the Role
· Lead a team of product managers for the development, commercialization, and profitability of GPS products (e.g., payments, liquidity, collections, corporate cards etc) to meet corporate and financial institution clients' GPS product and solution needs to achieve the overall profitability.
· Drive innovation, regulatory compliance, and market competitiveness while aligning with Hang Seng Bank’s franchise as well as Group GPS strategy.
Principal responsibilities
· Product Strategy & Profitability
• Manage the profit and loss for designated product suites, including decisions on pricing, costs, and margins.
• Lead strategic initiatives within the GPS Product Management team to achieve business objectives.
• Identify and address product gaps, developing solutions to enhance market competitiveness.
• Oversee the development of GPS products and services in collections, payments, liquidity, and cards to boost customer value and brand presence in targeted markets.
· Product Commercialization, Customer Experience, and Operational Efficiency
• Facilitate comprehensive product commercialization, covering operational, technical, documentation, and marketing aspects for launching new or improved GPS products.
• Enhance customer experience and operational efficiency to maximize product profitability.
· Market Leadership
• Expand Hang Seng Bank’s market share by deploying digital-focused solutions and customized client offerings.
• Conduct competitive benchmarking and promote emerging payment technologies.
· Regulatory & Risk Management
• Ensure adherence to local and global regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.
• Partner with key business stakeholders to provide ongoing support and compile regular product performance reports for monitoring, risk assessment, and action recommendations.
• Address operational risks and audit findings effectively
· Stakeholder Collaboration
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, IT, Operations) and regional/global stakeholders to deliver comprehensive solutions.
• Lead commercialization efforts, including the creation of sales materials and responses to client RFPs
· Team Leadership
• Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and diversity, mentoring product managers and agile teams.
• Encourage collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the team.
• Work closely with internal business units and stakeholders across GPS, CMB coverage, Operations, Technology, Risk Stewards, Legal, Compliance, and Group GPS verticals on various initiatives and projects.
Requirements
Significant experience in global payments and treasury solutions from leading financial institutions, with proven management expertise. Prior experience in Fintech, treasury transformation consulting, or site renovation projects is advantageous.

Strong understanding of commercial clients' needs in cash management, transformation, and digital banking services.

Knowledgeable in banking operations and products/services, ideally within Commercial Banking, with the ability to stay updated on digital advancements and apply technology to business needs.

Experience in Agile project management methodology for platform delivery is beneficial. Familiarity with Waterfall project management is also relevant.

Understanding of eFraud prevention and local regulatory eBanking requirements.
·
Business acumen and the ability to effectively communicate with executives, business stakeholders, and technical teams.

Attention to detail and the capability to work independently, as well as lead a team under pressure.
·
Strong communication and persuasion skills with a customer-centric mindset, including the ability to develop product marketing and messaging materials that meet stakeholder needs at all levels.

A strong sense of ownership, accountability, analytical skills, and the ability to make judgement calls and solve problems.
·
Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English. Fluency in Cantonese or Mandarin is a plus.
·
Professional qualifications such as Enhanced Competency Framework (ECF) and/or Certified Banker (CB) under Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) would be an advantage.
