The Global Head of Strategic Financing Partnerships is a leadership role in the HSBC Infrastructure Finance (HIF) & Sustainability team within Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB). Reporting to the CEO, HIF & Sustainability, CIB this person will play a critical role in delivering on HIF’s growth strategy by enhancing collaboration with public sector institutions, philanthropies, and private sector partners and help HSBC deliver on financing opportunities across key sectors and markets, within the Bank’s risk appetite. The key focus of the role will be unlocking infrastructure development opportunities for the Bank, by creating blended finance opportunities that allow the firm to invest or lend alongside public sector institutions and other partners in situations that align to HIF’s global strategy.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
· Develop and execute tailored resource mobilization strategies globally to help unlock external resources / capital in support of HSBC global infrastructure clients / goals and CIB’s distribution strategy
· Structure and execute platforms, partnerships, and innovative financing products that enable HIF to deepen relationships with both public and private sector clients whilst delivering catalytic change to the Group’s sustainability agenda
· Originate and maintain relationships that position HSBC for access to pools of catalytic capital to scale-up the Group’s financing in sustainable infrastructure in strategically important regions and sectors
· Work closely with internal global and regional stakeholders within HIF and broader CIB, as well as key strategic partners in Group Sustainability and wider group functions and partners
· Develop and execute matchmaking strategies and solutions, to bring together the needs of clients, with appropriate sources of capital to complement and strengthen HSBC’s value proposition
· Stay up to date with sustainability-related innovation from competitors, clients and the market in general to help develop solutions that meet client requirements
· Sit on relevant Business and Risk forums and will be a member of the HIF & Sustainability leadership team
Leadership & Teamwork
· Define and execute the Strategic Financing Partnerships plan, helping to establish programmatic blended finance capabilities for sustainable infrastructure
· Create and lead a professional, proactive and performance-driven culture that encourages and actively drives the net zero agenda, and engages people with the HSBC values and goals
· Drive outstanding team performance to ensure delivery of objectives for the Group, aligning with the Bank’s ambition
· Ability to champion and drive major change initiatives that will have significant and lasting impact on HSBC and our clients
· Provide effective leadership and maintain high standards of employee engagement
For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $400,000.00 and $450,000.00
The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements
Functional Requirements:
· Bring commercial acumen, a solid understanding of trends and opportunities in the sustainable finance and infrastructure space and a track record of delivering commercial projects partnering with relevant multilateral agencies, development finance institutions, philanthropic and private sector investors across the world
· Technical understanding and know-how of different financing structures (including corporate finance, fund finance and capital markets)
· Experience as people leader, capable of setting a global strategy and vision
· Experience of building capabilities and infrastructure required to deliver targeted client and business outcomes
· Excellent stakeholder management skills, ability to manage a variety of stakeholders across global locations
