Global Head of Remediation & Regional Head of KYC Operations, EUROPE
Role Purpose
This is a dual hatted role as part of the revised operational blueprint with Know Your Customer (KYC) operations. With the significant scale of transformation expected over the next 3 years, this role will be responsible for driving functional alignments, driving and enhancing our BAU service, whilst providing a conduit to the region.
In addition to the regional Europe responsibility the role will also will define the design the target state for KYC remediation, ensure global consistency and drive process excellence as well as production deliverables.
KYC Operations mission is that it “will act as a trusted business partner delivering a client due diligence service that enables HSBC Global Banking and Markets (GBM), Retail Banking and Wealth Management (RBWM) and Commercial Banking (CMB) to do business with the right clients globally”. The key aspects of the role are as follows.
BAU operations & Global Standards
· Provide and enhance a timely and quality-assured service to meet global financial crime, regulatory and risk management objectives in line with global standards
· Provide thought leadership and best practice support within KYC Operations and across the Europe region
· Establish a working environment and career model to enable staff to realize their full potential
· Provide prompt and accurate regulatory responses
· Focus on value-add activities, whilst embedding the Global Standards culture into the organization
· Develop the operations function with a focus on improving the customer experience with improved operational effectiveness.
Transformational change
· As a KYC Exco member, provide the sponsorship, leadership and execution capability for the 2018 – 2020 transformational change programme.
Business service
· Offer improved client service (both internally and externally), through accurate and optimized interaction
· Support revenue generation opportunities through improved speed to market & improved client experience,
· Facilitating Global Standards rollout and assuring its operational resilience,
· Transform the way our industry performs KYC Due-diligence and to expand this into other services over time
Global Head of KYC remediation
· Develop the KYC remediation thought leadership and capability, utilizing past experience and themes gained in the remediation space globally.
· Accountable for delivery of global remediation projects and initiatives
Utilities
· Ensure successful operational implementation of KYC utilities and promote the use of both internal and external utilities with key internal stakeholders.

Other responsibilities
· Creating the capability required to support Global Standards (GS) client due diligence programme across Lines of Business (LOB)
· Establishing and building management capability within KYC Operations and strong stakeholder relationships with Client Ops/Financial Crime Compliance (FCC)/Business teams
· Deploying the operating model and remediating existing client KYC profiles to the new Group Standard and supporting all new activity to the new policy standards.
· Aligning the new KYC Operations capability with LOB teams & FCC functions, providing a consistent, global KYC service as part of integrated cross-functional service platform.
· Delivery of high standards of client service, whilst at the same time ensuring that all internal (e.g. compliance) and external (regulatory) requirements are met in full, utilizing a combination of onshore and offshore resource managed as a single regional KYC Operations team.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

· Ability to build relationships by communicating, influencing and negotiating effectively with business heads, senior managers, consultants, technical experts across the whole department and business users
· Be delivery focused with ability to pay attention to detail and ensure tasks are completed on time and to the required levels of quality.
· Proven business and operational experience
· Proven experience in identifying and managing the risks, issues and dependencies related to complex programmes
· Able to articulate a challenging strategic vision and motivate people to achieve this
· Extensive experience in the Finance and Banking industry environment) together with business project management experience
· Experience of change programmes involving technology and operations
· Structured approach to programme and project manager including promoting and ensuring adherence to the project management framework defined by the HSBC
· Proven track record that can be demonstrated in delivering multi work stream, cross organizational / geographical business and IT change within the Securities industry
· Experience in risk management field, and proven ability to support the development of the business activities while robustly applying risk management disciplines and controls.
· Good knowledge of regulatory trends and developments
· AML qualification and or post graduate Compliance degree is an advantage
· While KYC / Anti Money Laundering (AML) experience is preferred it is not necessarily required.
· Strong leadership and management ability
· Strong interpersonal skills and able to build and maintain global relationships
· Outstanding written / verbal communication and presentation skills
· Planning, time management and resource management skills

The base location of this role will be Park Street, London
