Global Billing System Manager

Job description

The role of the Global Billing System Manager is to lead & deliver the HSBC Group Payments infrastructure GBS program as mandated by the Group Payment Services Board and PCM. It will also involve the management of program and transformation resources on a global basis; delivering within cost and resource constraints the agreed transformation projects; delivery of transformational programme through design, deployment and benefit realization, tracking and reporting and also the management and delivery of the GBS platform in production, its availability, enhancement and ongoing maintenance.
 
The job holder will be accountable to the PCM COO & Group Head of Payment Services via their line manager.
 
Your responsibilities will include:
 
Impact on the Business

Lead and direct the transformation programme on a global basis.  Ensure alignment with strategy and maximum beneficial impact for the GBM, CMB propositions and PCM Products and solutions.
Deliver step change in operational performance (cost, service levels, and customer satisfaction) through successful initiation and delivery of major change programmes which are fully aligned with global direction.
Develop and deploy standardised operational processes such that these processes can be readily migrated to low cost GR centres where we can leverage the group’s global economies of scale. Work with other regional colleagues to align where appropriate.
Customers / Stakeholders

Business Stakeholders – Become a trusted partner. Positively engage with business and HTS governance processes as a full partner.
Group collaboration - Ensure close liaison with Group Compliance, Software Delivery and Change Delivery to ensure effective management and collaboration. 
Engagement - Develop and maintain relationships with regional and in-country teams, both in HTS and in the business areas, ensuring an open and transparent communication approach that engenders teamwork and the quick resolution of escalated issues.
Leadership & Teamwork

Transformation Lead – Operate as a senior influencer and change agent with multiple stakeholders to enable delivery of business and HTS strategy.
People Management - Develop a positive culture and working environment that supports attraction of specialist talent and the retention of employees in HSBC Payment Services.
Operational Effectiveness & Control

Right sourcing - Work with Regional Heads of  Service Delivery and Heads of Change Delivery  as appropriate. Maximise the use of the Group Service Centres (GSCs), Centres of Excellence (CoEs) and GLT to promote use of Group standard systems.
Structure - Establish and manage appropriate global and regional management structures and processes to effectively fulfil job responsibilities
Control - Ensure compliance with all relevant internal instructions (FIMs, GSMs, circulars) and external regulatory requirements, including the management of operational risk and adherence to the Group’s standards of ethical behaviour

Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e.  Ability to bring analytical rigour and structure to poorly-defined problems
Role relevant qualifications, i.e. University degree in related field or commensurate practical experience
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e.  Good working knowledge of functional area in an operational or consulting capacity; and demonstrable ability to execute defined projects
Good understanding of change programmes and IT lifecycle management
Aware and sensitive to regulatory, business and operational risk
A desire to find ways to continually improve the service delivered to customers
Set and achieved challenging short, medium and long term goals which exceeded the standards in their field
Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
Built effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same 
Experience of creating and deploying comprehensive business/operating plans which consistently deliver desired results
A successful track record of delivering complex projects and/or programmes, utilising appropriate techniques and tools to ensure and measure success
A broad understanding of financial budgets/statements/models, with experience of analysing data effectively for planning, forecasting and reporting
The base location for this role is 8 Canada Square, London.
