Role Title: Events Management

Business: Global Banking and Markets

New or Existing Role: Existing

Grade: GCB5

Role Purpose

· Work as a key team member to organise, manage and administer, on direction from and in liaison with the business, roadshows, presentations, seminars, conferences and hospitality events for clients, HSBC Economist and Analysts as well as HSBC employees. This particular role works closely with other CREM team members locally, regionally and globally, as required.

Key Accountabilities

Impact on Business

· The business, on behalf of its client base, requires, timely, accurate and relevant access key investors and analysts.
· Provide advice and support to the business on most efficient and cost effective way to achieve maximum meeting/presentation opportunities with clients.
· Ensure all events as led are run in a professional manner, such events are projected as high quality events

Customers / Stakeholders

· Build relationships with various businesses including DCM, Syndicate, Global Research, Equity Sales, Corporate Access, Institutional Credit Sales, Sales Management and Business Development to understand their needs and requirements on CREM
· Build relationships with various suppliers to ensure all logistic and production requirements can be met
· Build relationships with other business partners locally, regionally and globally

Leadership & Teamwork

· Work effectively with the CREM team locally, regionally and globally
· Build and maintain a strong communication network with key stakeholders
· Work with international and Group colleagues as required, to ensure a coordinated approach
· Be part of an energetic, dynamic and coherent event team
· To be involved in raising the event management standard across the globe
· Deadline Management

Role Context

· The individual will be based in London and work under the guidance of the Manager, to whom he/she reports to, and work closely with the CREM team.

· CREM team is part of Global Banking and Markets

· The jobholder is required to work with autonomy within a larger team, but help and act as a member of that team if mitigating circumstances arise.

· This role sits at the centre of the end-to-end delivery of events and roadshows process, from inception to day-to-day running of the function. A key challenge is to co-ordinate all activities effectively to ensure satisfactory delivery of the required results in a fast-paced environment and in some cases where there is no clear cut solution. Judgment under pressure and rapid responses that do not compromise quality or compliance are essential.

Management of Risk

· The jobholder will also continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.

· This will be achieved by ensuring all actions take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring.

· Also by addressing any areas of concern in conjunction with line management and/or the appropriate department.

Observation of Internal Controls

· The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.

· The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term ‘compliance' embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.

· This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

· Demonstrable experience of managing and developing conference, roadshow and event, especially on deal and non-deal roadshows, investors trips, corporate days, preferably in the global banking industry.

· Ability to lead small to medium scale events and roadshows

· Experience within a hectic and pressurised working environment is preferable.

· Ability to work with minimum supervision, under pressure, extreme tight timeline as well as on multiple tasks simultaneously and to cover projects across different time zone / region

· Excellent communication skills are mandatory, as are good tact and diplomacy, as the role requires constant communication with internal and external clients.
