We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of  Country Head of GTRF, Malaysia. Principal Accountabilities: To lead the Global Trade & Receivable Finance team which reports directly to Regional Head of  Global Trade and Receivable Finance . The team consist of front line staff as well as Middle Office staff covering GB, LC , MME  and  BBU business , initiatives and employee performance management. 
 
Responsibilities:
 
Drive and deliver revenue , growth, achieve targets  as well as  maximise the financial contribution of the Trade & RF business in  Malaysia;
Drive the delivery of a comprehensive and competitive suite of Trade & RF solutions, delivered through a range of delivery channels by executing a commercially focused product management strategy, which aligns with the propositional requirements of the Customer Groups;
Lead the development and execution of a high quality client-centric service culture that delivers superior post-sales support to GB&M and CMB clients across the range of Trade & RF products in Malaysia.
Position HSBC as the top provider of Trade & RF services in Malaysia by developing an appropriate marketing strategy to ensure that HSBC is ranked number one in all significant trade product providers’ surveys across the country.
Lead the creation of appropriate operating budgets for the country  and track performance of country Trade & RF teams as well as to ensure strategic alignment with Global and Country imperatives;
Take responsibility for running a globally & locally compliant Trade & RF business which meets changing regulatory requirements and ensures reputational risk impact is mitigated / minimised for the Trade & RF business;
Optimise the use of Trade & RF resources across the country, by developing and monitoring appropriate MI to manage the use of resources including people, premises and systems.
Strive for class-leading customer experience by cultivating a consistent selling and relationship management culture.
Establish metrics and ensure effective tracking of HSBC’s competitor offerings and performance vs HSBC.
Deepen customer relationships through championing business co-operation with key stakeholders including Global Banking & Markets, CMB, Trade & RF, Payments and Cash Management , Private Banking, RBWM and ensure strong networks with key external stakeholders such as regulatory bodies, Trade Associations, Government Agencies, IT vendors etc
Understand current economic trends and its impact on HSBC within assigned country and identify key levers to capitalise on opportunities or minimise downside exposure.
Represent GTRF at local governance committees and forums and act as a GTRF champion to ensure that key objectives are prioritised appropriately within CMB & GBM;
Drive a high performance culture through effective people management activities and drive up employee engagement by taking action against agreed priorities in identified action plans;
Develop and implement Human Resource strategies to provide an environment where individual and team contributions are encouraged and rewarded, and where individuals and teams are provided with appropriate development opportunities.
Create a clear succession and development plan process to identify and develop talent;
Encourage cross-country and cross-business teamwork by sharing best practices;

Ensuring that compliance, audit and operational requirements are met at all times in accordance to laws & regulations ,guidelines, manual and other instructions;

Desired profile

Skills/Attributes: 
-    Broad commercial banking and relationship management experience with min. 
    15 year experience;
-  Strong business acumen with good understanding of wholesale banking
  corporate customers.
-  An in-depth knowledge of the Trade & RF business on a global basis.
-  The incumbent is expected to capture the big picture of the market and execute a
  comprehensive strategy to  position HBMY GTRF as the leading trade bank
-  Highly developed management skills, with experience in team building and
  managing a wide range of projects.
-  Ability to lead and motivate other managers and staff, employing appropriate
  management styles.
-  Highly developed communication and influencing skills set.
-  Experience of managing resources to achieve objectives using appropriate
  communication delegation and planning skills.
-  Ability to use strong judgmental skills to identify and resolve problems whilst
  maintaining budgets, time scales and quality of output.
