HSBC Continental Europe, Markets Treasury, Junior trader (7 months contract)

What you will do:

The Markets Treasury trader participates in the liquidity and funding management of the legal entity, in respect of the applicable regulatory and Group guidelines.

In this role you will:

·  Ensure the forward-looking management of the currencies under his responsibility, manage central bank accounts, nostros in correspondent banks, and manages mandatory reserves in Euros.
·  Analyse the HSBC Continental Europe’s currency cash flows data daily, to achieve a reliable forecasted position. To reach this goal, act on the FX swaps market, the Money market, the repo market, and on the bonds market on several currencies to square the accounts and define optimisation strategies.
·  Ensure an accurate and tight management of liquidity through the management of the Liquidity Coverage Ratio (‘LCR’) and of the Internal Liquidity Metric (‘ILM’) ; participate in the European Central Bank monetary operations on behalf of the Bank and be owner of Commercial Paper issuances. He is also involved in the management decisions on Central Bank collateral and intraday management.
·  Reache financial targets in respect of the trading and credit limits, anti-money laundering and other regulatory or internal rulesets applicable.
·  Price and centralise internal funding for business lines, subsidiaries, and branches within HSBC Continental Europe’s perimeter.
·  In the context of the HSBC Continental Europe’s long-term funding plan, act in respect of the EMTN governance established, on areas such as pricing and validation procedures. More broadly, be in tight relationship with ALCM and centralises business lines’ requests on long-term funding, and requests for vanilla and structured notes appetites and pricing (via the structured desks).

Conditions

You should apply if you have:

·  Proven knowledge of financial and economic schemes, financial instruments and experience on FX and Money Markets;
·  Strong understanding of the following traded instruments: E&D, NeuCP – CD, FX, FX Forward, IRS and OIS, FX Spot, Repo / Reverse Repo and bonds;
·  Knowledge of HSBC values, internal procedures and applicable regulation;
·  Good understanding of the Bank’s balance sheet composition and dynamics;
·  Strong knowledge of regulatory ratios (LCR, NSFR, Leverage ratio)
·  Experienced on financial IT tools (Bloomberg, Refinitiv), and MS Office
·   Advanced programming skills (VBA, Python, SQL)
·  Proficiency in English is required.  Some understanding of French would be an advantage. 
·  Team spirit and ability to maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
·   An academic background which meets local market trading and sales regulatory requirements
