Calypso Business Analyst

Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC's global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world's leading international bank.

Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.

We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world from our offices at the Bluefin Building in Southwark, our global headquarters in Canary Wharf, and multiple other locations around the UK including Sheffield, Leeds, Barnsley and Birmingham.

Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion throughout 2019 and beyond, we are currently seeking a number of experienced Calypso Business Analysts to join HSBC Technology.


Brief overview of the business areas

What you will be doing;


This person will be an enthusiastic technologist who would be joining an expanding platform in terms of client base and functionalities we offer. It is an opportunity to join a team that is consistently involved in projects of strategic value whilst consolidating the risk profile of the organization. You will be joining a team where your input to the support and change of the platform matters.

Designing solutions specific to business requirements and support of our Derivatives, Pricing and Collateral operations.

·
Work with Product Owners and the DevOps team, contribute to the delivery, on-going success & continuous improvement of the set of products and services the MODA Calypso platform offers

·
On-boarding of major new and existing clients for Middle Office (including Clearing and Collateral Management)

·
Provide analysis, configuration, documentation and testing for the well-established Middle Office System – Calypso v15.2

·
Review the client requirements/scope documents from the Business Analysis team and identify any gaps for development. Raise/enrich stories for functionality to be developed within Calypso.

·
Support and contribute to the test scripts required to enhance our automated testing framework

· Provision and maintenance of support documentation on centralised repositories such as Confluence and JIRA.
·
Automated Testing using industry standard test tool FitNesse

·
Manage SIT and input into release process

·
Raise any issues found in the calypso functionality with Calypso Helpdesk and follow it through.

·
Work with product owner & team to ensure that high levels of automation are implemented and maintained across the teams

Desired profile

Qualifications :

What you will bring to the role;

· 
5 years plus experience with Calypso, including configuring the system to achieve desired results and working closely with developers to extend the system.

· 
Strong Derivatives Management, Central Clearing and Collateral Management knowledge and experience gained either in Middle or Back office in an investment banking or hedge fund environment.

· 
Awareness of Swift instructions and settlement methods.

· 
Configuration and design experience within Calypso to ensure solutions implemented are supportable

· 
Good knowledge and experience of implementing Pricing, Clearing and Bilateral Collateral Management in Calypso v13 to v15

· 
Strong knowledge of implementing OTCs on Calypso e.g.. Credit Derivatives, IRD, Equity OTCs, CFDs, FRAs, Caps/Floors, TRS on Bonds, Repos

· 
Key to the success of the individual will be their ability to be able to discuss lifecycle management, clearing and collateral with people of various knowledge levels.

· 
Candidates will be expected to be able to demonstrate a track record of driving processes forward coupled with a strong background of being able to work on their own initiative in a global team environment.

· 
The ability to build relationships within the wider HSBC group in relation to specialised Middle Office teams.

· 
Taking responsibility for a delivery workstream with little supervision from management

· 
Good understanding of agile / test driven-development methodology.

· 
Agile / Scrum development management experience

· 
SQL, Unix, Java – good understanding.

· 
Demonstrable experience and understanding of SQL, Java, Unix

· 
Solid configuration and design skills

· 
Good understanding and grasp of the Agile development process and Continuous Integration/Deployment pipeline.

The base location for this role is Canada Square, London
