Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC's global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world's leading international bank.

Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.

We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world from our offices at the Bluefin Building in Southwark, our global headquarters in Canary Wharf, and multiple other locations around the UK including Sheffield, Leeds, Barnsley and Birmingham.

Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion throughout 2020 and beyond, we are currently seeking a number of experienced Business Systems Analyst to join HSBC Technology.

The role is responsible for gathering information, conducting reviews and identifying gaps (if any) for a given application/scope. This involves liaising with the application owners, designing and executing data analysis and undertaking documentation reviews. For any identified gaps, the Analyst will undertake detailed root cause analysis on the applications and underlying data interfaces and manipulations to identify gaps in control effectiveness and identify options to remediate and enhance those controls.


What you will be doing;

Conduct detailed and thorough reviews of the Compliance IT systems (TM, Sanctions NS, and CDD) to assess the effectiveness of the controls.

Conduct Root Cause Analysis and work with the system team to identify solutions to issues found.

Report authoring - detailed documentation of reviews undertaken, findings, recommendations and creation of a robust audit trails.

Act as an ambassador for the team and promote Compliance IT Controls when engaging stakeholders, system owners and wider Compliance IT/Risk community.

Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the team's methodologies and operating assets.

Qualifications :

What you will bring to the role;

To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge of the following skills:

· 
Data Analysis - Experience of working with and interrogating/analysing large data sets.

· 
Experience of working with Financial Crime Risk / Compliance systems such as Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions, etc.

· 
Ability to work with senior IT stakeholders and drive results within resource and time constraints.

· 
Excellent English written & verbal communication skills. Articulate author of analysis - able to present complex issues in a clear, concise and digestible manner.

· 
Naturally inquisitive self-starter with the ability to work independently with limited supervision.

· 
Exposure to big data environments and query tools (e.g. SQL, SAS)

· 
Experience of working in the IT function of a large Financial Services organisation or within an associated Assurance or Audit function would also be beneficial.

The base location for this role is 8 Canada Square, London.
