The Associate, CMB Portfolio Management role is based within Wholesale Portfolio Management.
The role of the Associate, CMB Portfolio Management is to The jobholder has responsibility for the support of the banks pricing models (Lending Book / EF / IF, GTRF) covering LC, GBM and BB.
Your responsibilities will include:
User support for CMB Pricing Models
To deliver outstanding customer service to all internal and external parties
To provide MI / data analytics service with regards to the pricing of the portfolios
Ad Hoc Analysis
To ensure consistent pricing methodologies and models
To promote a consistent approach to the design of Pricing Models.
Bilingual language skills to advance level to deliver training support with for multi-lingual user population e.g. Portuguese, Spanish
Desired profile
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Role relevant qualifications, i.e. Relevant Degree level or equivalent
Past working experience on relevant systems, i.e. SAS
Experience of using relevant software packages, i.e. Microsoft Office
Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Pricing of lending products is desirable but not essential
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Portfolio Management is desirable but not essential
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Portfolio Management is desirable but not essential
Past working experience on relevant systems, i.e. Booking systems is desirable but not essential
Previous experience of delivering an excellent customer service
A flexible and adaptable approach to change and will support others to respond in a similar way
Excellent written and spoken communication skills with experience of successfully influencing others, negotiating effectively and winning over audiences with compelling and persuasive presentations
Worked collaboratively with other colleagues, supporting them when possible
Experience of making prompt and practical business decision, even in times of ambiguity, considering various perspectives and taking responsibility for outcomes
The ability to understand and interpret straightforward financial data
A comprehensive understanding of the regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements associated with financial services and experience of working within these
Experience of building effective customer relationships which create customer advocacy

Essential:
To be successful in this position, the holder must be able to demonstrate the following hard competencies:
An understanding of economic credit risk modelling concepts and risk adjusted profitability measures
Able or able to learn how to work with large data sets using SAS and/or SQL
Competency in Microsoft office applications, especially MS Excel
A thorough understanding of corporate banking, associated bank-book products and trading-book products
Experience with or understanding of bank credit risk processes, ideally also including work-out processes
Understanding of the economic capital allocation processes within banks
Understanding of accounting principles, especially fair valuation, general and specific loan loss provisions
Graduate level qualification in a numerate discipline
Excellent communications written and verbal and interpersonal / team skills
Experience and ability to operate in an international setting
Desirable:
Ideally candidates would also be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
Advanced SAS programming skills
Experience gained within a credit portfolio or risk management environment would be ideal
Use and application of Moody's Economic Capital methodology or similar methodologies
Bilingual language skills to advance level to deliver training support with for multi-lingual user population e.g. Portuguese, Spanish
