Role Title: GBM Transformation Services Associate

Role Purpose
· GBM Transformation Services is a key department within the Global Banking & Markets Chief Operating Office and is responsible for developing and driving transformational change and innovation globally for GBM.
· A Transformation Services Associate is required to support & manage the delivery of strategic transformation programmes & projects within GBM.

Key Accountabilities

Impact on Business

· The responsibilities for this role will include
· Practically applying the principles of project management methodologies & disciplines across multiple GBM Transformation projects, to achieve strategic business outcomes
· Ensuring that risks & issues are identified and appropriately escalated
· Supporting the management of programme budgets & resources
· Ensuring the on time, cost and quality achievement of deliverables for projects through effective scoping, planning & governance
· Delivering design led change using the Transformation Lifecycle, or equivalent methodology; and collaborating across global teams within Transformation Services to ensure that the full lifecycle is undertaken.
· Building, modelling & creating strategy documents & presentations leveraging internal and external research & knowledge of businesses and functions
· Identifying opportunities to make improvements to current ways of working & challenge the status quo
· Communicating complex messages in ways that others can understand
· Coaching or mentoring staff at a more junior level (graduates / interns)
· Managing the reporting of progress, issues, dependencies and risks to committees and making recommendations to influence decision making in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation.
· Championing the use of the Transformation Lifecycle and Agile methodologies across GBM
· Presenting at internal meetings and recruitment events

Management of Risk
· The jobholder will ensure the fair treatment of our customers is at the heart of everything we do, both personally and as an organisation. This will be achieved by consistently displaying the behaviours that form part of the HSBC Values and culture and adhering to HSBC risk policies and procedures, including notification and escalation of any concerns and taking required action in relation to points raised by audit and/or external regulators.
· The jobholder is responsible for managing and mitigating operational risks in their day to day operations. In executing these responsibilities, the Group has adopted risk management and internal control structure referred to as the ‘Three Lines of Defence'. The jobholder should ensure they understand their position within the Three Lines of Defence, and act accordingly in line with operational risk policy, escalating in a timely manner where they are unsure of actions required.
· Through the implementation the Global AML, Sanctions and ABC Policies, supporting Guidance, and Line of Business Procedures the jobholder will make informed decisions in accordance with the core principles of HSBC's Financial Crime Risk Appetite.

Qualifications :

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

·  The successful candidate will have the below experience and qualifications:
·  Experience of strategic transformation delivery across projects and programmes
·  Good knowledge of agile project management methodologies
·  Broad understanding of the GBM business and its component parts, able to explain at a high level the products and services offered by businesses with demonstrable interest in the industry
·  Awareness of; and interest in trends in, big data, automation, distributed ledger technologies or digital delivery
·  Ability to prioritise work within competing demands, to successfully deliver services to agreed levels in a diverse and constantly changing technical and business environment
·  Excellent written and oral communications skills
·  Awareness of; and interest in trends in, big data, automation, distributed ledger technologies or digital delivery

·  Experience of managing stakeholders across multiple businesses and regions
·  Awareness of emerging external trends in economy and industry in order to identify strategic opportunities
·  The role holder may also be required to contribute to the development of Group standards and identifies and implements new practices, processes and technologies where required.
