The Assistant Manager, UK CMB FCC (BAU Advisory) role is based within HSBC's Commercial Banking Financial Crime Compliance Team.
The role of the Assistant Manager, UK Commercial Banking (CMB) Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) (BAU Advisory) is to provide advice to the Commercial Banking business unit on all financial crime risks (Anti Money Laundering (AML), Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) and Sanctions) and to provide approval for the onboarding of the Bank's highest risk customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Review and sign-off of the bank's highest risk customers (Special Category Customers) including Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs)
· Manage queries from the front-office and stakeholders on AML, ABC and Sanctions
· Manage Management Information (MI)/Reporting for key committees such as Commercial Banking's Risk Management Committee and Reputational Risk Committee
· Review of PEP alerts.
· Review of negative news and facts referrals
· Bespoke training to front office on complex structures and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements
Desired profile
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
· Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Financial Crime Compliance/AML advisory
· Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Financial Crime Analyst/AML advisory
· Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Commercial Banking is desirable but not essential
· Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Financial Services is desirable but not essential
· Role relevant qualifications, i.e. AML/Financial Crime Qualification is desirable but not essential
· Past working experience on relevant systems, i.e. World Check, Lexis Nexus, Companies House is desirable but not essential
· Previous experience of delivering an excellent customer service
· An open, flexible and supportive approach to change and innovation
· Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
· Contributed productively to team objectives, sometimes supporting and sometimes leading activities to achieve shared goals
· Experience of making prompt and practical business decision, even in times of ambiguity, considering various perspectives and taking responsibility for outcomes
· A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes
